Default Game quits after short inactivity...

I'm running a dungeon. I find a safe corner to hide in. I go get a glass of water, open a pack of smokes. I come back and the game has shut down to desktop. Anytime I leave the keyboard with the intent to come back to the game shortly, I have to run back, hit the spacebar, go back to whatever I was doing, i.e. finish making a sandwich. Anyone else with this annoying issue?

this has always been a feature of the game but it hasnt been working properly for the last few years.

Mod 9 "fixed" it so it now logs you off for sure. They do it for your health... so you dont have time to smoke and get cancer.

    this has been a psa

Its a feature which is intended. Premium accounts have a longer time, and VIP counts have an even longer one. This is in place to prevent an inactive player from adding to server lag.

If you wish your character to stay logged in, however, try putting a weight on the "w" key

    Default One downside of F2P

F2P players get a very short period of time to be afk before being kicked. I think the rationale given during beta was that they didn't want people blocking the queue to enter the game or something to that effect.... They planned on getting a lot more people and didn't want to use up server power with people being afk (i think.... could be totally off here)

I'm not sure if it still works or not, but a work-around for this would be to find a safe corner/wall where you can put your character in auto-run. Run against the wall. This used to prevent the DC due to inactivity (I'm not 100% sure it still works, though).

nah... wont work. It tracks you by the last time you pushed a button or moved your mouse.

A better solution would be to put peanut butter on your mouse and buy a dog. Its not perfect but will keep you logged in for a much longer time.
