Evoker FvS

Hm, I will have to look into what shield I will use. I currently have a Light and Darkness. It would be nice to get an alchemical shield, but I play on Orien and my guild doesn't do MA/LoB so it might be difficult in PUGs. I can get most spell effects (on my wiz anyway) in other slots. I really need to look into divine items.

I currently also have a 20 first life palemaster who I will be TRing, but plan to keep as a PM for all lives (I love PMs lol) so will only want my FvS for scroll farming while my PM is releveling. I also just started a new sorc so it's not a really big deal if my FvS just does epic raids and quests. Notice that I like casters?

I know it's a slightly old post. I use unsupressed Light and Darkness on my LoB. For my envoker, I use a crafter cannith sheild (currently +5 major healing lore, will probably add more once I cap her). I also just farmed her up a templar's bulwark from lords of dust optional. 10 DR, and inherent energy resists, and 4 runs to acquire.

Force line doesn't stack with Angel of Vengeance, so you don't get any extra BB damage.

Ok, thanks. Well that sucks, but splashing is not for this build anyway. Im at lvl17 currently and obsessed with repeating crossbows atm. 2 artificer levels gets you added force damage also ,but better leave that for my cleric then.

How do you see this build being in light of the new update? Any significant changes?

Also, how would it be adapted for having a sorc PL, as well as a pair of wizard PL? And a full set of +2 tomes (+3 CHA tome too).

You would be hard pressed to find a single build for any class that will not be seeing a large number of massive changes due to Update 14. Epic Destinies alone represent a huge shift to all builds, and that's totally ignoring the spellpower, feat, and AC changes.

These things don't really affect it at all. +1 Evoke DC from a Sorc PL is not really enough incentive to drop a Spell Focus feat...not when they stack. You'd be hard pressed to ever say "My DC is high enough, I don't need any more" until you get every monster in the game failing their save on a 2.

Now Im asking myself: in which way does the update affects the evoker? Atm Im heading to level up with the Ex.A destiny. But maybe it makes sence to change some things?

Afaik the ExA enhancements dont push the evocation spells...will they be powerful enough for the new content on epic elite?
Is the new best FvS Caster a "Lightbringer" and you should just push light dam instead of evoc-focus?

Im a bit afraid bout the future of this build...

ExA gives caster levels for breaking spell resistance, and potentially +6 wisdom from enhancements for pushing DC.

Wis:
18 Base
+6 Level ups
+6 ExA
+2 Epic Wisdom feats
+8 Item
+3 Insightful (formerly Exceptional)
+1 Litany
+2 Enhancement
+2 Alchemical
+2 Completionist
= 50

Then put temporary boosts like Yugo pots on top of that...

Light spells still have no save. Some of the ExA abilities do, but they are also Cha based, not Wis based, so your DC with those is going to be terrible anyway unless you are a Bard/Sorc twisting the abilities in.

The Evocation focus has always centered around Blade Barrier and Implosion. Those remain good spells. Having Impulse and Kinetic Lore work on Blade Barrier is a nice improvement.

I think that Exalted Angel with twists for Precise Evocation and School Specialist (Evocation) would also be pretty potent.

Except that Shield Mastery is total garbage now. Only 6% DR now, as opposed to pre-update 20%. Can't wait to swap it out when Fred becomes available again.

So I have a WF Melee FvS I'm thinking of taking Evoker. I know I'll have some DC deficiencies with the -2. Is that killer in new epic (normal? hard? elite?) content?

Hi, with the free LR since the update, wanted to try the evoker & I have a few doubts as upto date I've played a melee focused fvs.

Half Elf with 34pt build. Past life: Cleric

Stats:
Str 12
Dex 8
Con 15
Int 8
Wis 18 + lvl ups
Cha 14

Feats:
Sov. Host / Dil. Sorc or Paladin / Toughness
Maximise / Quicken / Heighten
Spell Pen
Spell Focus & GSF: Evo

Dilettante: Sorc to be able to use arcane scrolls or Paladin for saves?
Now with epic feats do I want Greater Spell Pen in order to get Epic Spell Pen? What do I drop? or take Epic Spell Focus x2
Should I fit Empower at the cost of Toughness?
Start in Exalted Angel & work towards Magister?
