Have to agree with one of the other posters i have noticed a huge decline in LAG in every quest even the shroud I think your lag issue is either your computer or the operator.

Ya like i said we're total noob who have no idea about lag and running Shroud ... forgive my noobness and i'll forget your TERDness ...
And you are right Ragemage changing my computer will prevent 3 people from DCing at the same time and everyone else from experiencing lag in Shroud , while i'm at it i'll put doors between all my toons to help with the lag !!! Ducktape for the win !!!
*Ducktape is really good to fix computers .
I am probably the monority on this, but I like the Dungeon Alert and the so called jacked up scaling right now. In ww on hard last night the kobolds lighting was hitting really hard. God forbid we have to use tactics again instead of everyone zerging and the clerics and casters rolling through mana pots.
Be nice to all the newcomers we were all there once.

I've no problem with tactics and running smart instead of fast. What I take issue with is that some tactics set the damned alerts off. I got agro on my cleric. Tanks were otherwise engaged, so I threw up a blade barrier and ran the mobs on me through it until the tanks could distract them. As soon I started running back and forth, the alerts went off, green then yellow. We were slowed down, but not the mobs. We took more damage and I ended up dying because I couldn't run fast enough to dodge the mobs anymore.
I died because I was playing smart. Not because I was zerging through the dungeon waiting for things to rebound. Not because I ran around deliberately antagonizing every mob in the quest, but because I was kiting a few through a blade barrier--you know, using tactics... Dungeon alert effing sucks as implemented.

I used to get a ton of lag in the Shroud/Vale/Meridia/Gianthold etc. Then I upgraded my RAM and it all went away.
The only lag I get now is in the Marketplace. I know this is due to utilization because there were 4 instances the other day. Otherwise, I see no lag issues.
Disagree. This is a commentary of the current state of returning players, but several people I run with have joined pug shrouds to yes fail since mod 9's release. Alot of the returning players have no clue what the shroud is such that it is a wonder they can even find the darn thing.
Edit: oh and one more thing the lag is horrendous in there and has not changed one bit on any part.

How nice for you. I have a premium HiSpeed Internet connection that is wired, a top rated video card and 4Gigs of ram. it is not my computer. The problem lies in the fact that I run with elite players who have the best gear and the best builds and we do massive DPS. But thanks for your valuable contributionTo top the lag off, I now often get booted from the game when I log into giant hold and the subterrain
No, you died because your group tried taking on too many at once. Green alert doesn't happen until you've got about 10-15 chasing the party. Yellow won't go off until you hit some other threshold...it's not time, it's quantity. Don't grab so much all at once, and the DA's won't affect you.
I kite groups of a dozen or so through my firewalls all the time, and rarely does it trip over to green.
As for the DA 'sucking', it's great if you know how to utilize it. One fast moving guy who can stay out of harrier reach kiting a ton of stuff around an adventure area until it goes Red, and the rest of the party can kill literally hundreds more things in the rest of the adventure area than they could before because large groups spawn in on Red.

I have to give Kalten credit for the original idea... but I have to use it:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Turbine for this wonderful feature they added called "Dungeon Alert". This is an invaluable tool for me, because now, when I am playing my Sorc, I know exactly when it is time to stop running through the dungeon/landscape/zone, and lay down a Wall of Fire to kill some stuff. I mean, it is 100% accurate. If the little face goes Yellow or Red, it is the PERFECT time to WoF & CoC some critters dead... then go back to my breakneck pace of running through every dungeon as fast as I possibly can! How would I ever have known when the right time was... before I would always turn too soon and waste a WoF on only 2-3 mobs... or wait until there were too many, and get killed the moment I stopped. Now, the little smiley face on my screen makes sure I do it JUST RIGHT!![]()

IMO, it looks like the vast majority of lag people are experiencing is from either their own poor computers or poor network connections. I'm sorry, but you can't blame it on the servers. At some point, if you, or your network, can't deal with all the data that needs to come in, to make everything perfect, then somewhere, some data is going to have to get lost. I have virtually no lag, except for the first few times I look around an area, as my video card gets the textures all loaded to it. 3.3Ghz Dual Core, 3GB ram, ancient ATI 850XL, running at maximum settings for everything. Perhaps most importantly, comcast has me pushing speeds close to 20Mbit. Game typically runs anywhere from 40 to 180fps (40 in the worst situations, 180 when sitting in a small dungeon) When I upgrade video card, I fully expect all lag to disappear.
How nice for you.
I run a 4.4 GHz dual core processor, 4 GB of ram and have an Ati radeon HD 4870 1GBvideo card with a 100Mb connection speed. I get predictable lag in the shroud. It is DPS lag, everyone else in the raid gets it. we all have different ISP's on 3 different continents.
