    Default Simple way to improve Mass Heal

    Okay, the Mass Heal spell is currently pretty weak due to its terrible slowness, but it's understandable that the devs had to be careful to avoid it being too strong and becoming the only healing spell you ever need, and for the effectiveness of Cleric healing to triple just by advancing from 16th to 17th level.

    But here's a fast and easy change to allow Mass Heal to be more useful, without becoming too strong:
    Create multiple versions of Mass Heal, chosen from a popup when you cast the spell
    Mass Heal Quick would have the same speed as normal Heal, but works on 2 people (and has the increased level cap).
    Mass Heal Regular would be a little slower and hit 4 targets.
    Mass Heal Slow works as slowly as the current DDO version, and hits just as many people.

    There, that way a player can chose to use the current version for the most hitpoint-per-spellpoint cost effectiveness, or he can pick a weaker version that's responsive enough to use during dynamic combat.

    I know Mass heal needs changes to make it viable as a way to heal your people. These changes don't offend my senses very much, however...

    Will making it hit less people make it more viable?

    It would seem that in a Raid, or a regular quest to a lesser extent it only hitting two people would be well.....better but not entirely useful still.

    The problem i have with it is hitting a small amount of people means you have to have certain groups standing in certain places to get the full effectiveness of the spell.

    Its possible, but its just alot of work to make the spell a viable way to heal. especially in hectic raid boss beating.

    I like the ideas. They're better than anything i have come up with. Mass Heal just needs to be alot better before it sees main stream use.

    I took it to try and test it in shroud (cuz that seemed to be the yard stick for usefulness for about a year now) and part 4/5 you can keep a group of raged wf barbs up with just this spell. Useless... under some circumstances yes, but with quicken it rocks for efficieny.

    It does work fantastically well in 6-man quests with quicken on. I just wish they'd change it from 6 targets to 12.

    Oh it works fine for Beak. He just lets the tanks die off until there are only six :P

    Nothing wrong with it, i turn quicken on if i need it, saved a party wipe in part 5 of shroud.

    why not just improve the casting time and lengthen the cooldown

    cast time of a regular heal spell, but with a 15-20 second cooldown.
