    Default Elf Sorcerer?

Hi, I just started playing a week ago and I've noticed that many people use warforged, humans, and drows as their sorcerer. I've just reached level 5 as an elf and I haven't seen much about elves being able to play sorcerer. Why is that? Did I pick the wrong race? Do races determine which class they would excel in most? Is there any point of having an elf sorcerer than [other race] sorcerer?

WF can heal (repair) themselves, but get -2 Cha.

Human get +1 Feat, +1 Skill Point, and +1 Cha.

    Drow get +2 Cha.

Elves just don't get anything that synergizes all that well with being a Sorcerer. Maybe you could be a Bow using Sorcerer...Arcane Archer...that might be a reason to be an Elf Sorcerer.

    To clarify,

WF have +2CON, self-healing (via repair spell lines/repair scrolls/wands) as soon as level 1, crazy immunities, can get toughness enhancements, but -2CHA.

Humans have +1 feat, +1skill point, +1CHA, +1 some other stat.

    Drow have +2CHA, +2INT (granting +1skill point), and +2DEX, but -2CON.

From a power gaming perspective, those are your best bets for a Sorcerer from a racial perspective. Each has thier pro's and cons, but all 3 are clearly better than the other racial options for a Sorcerer.

Current Lineup: Daemonis, Jagannath, Engineered, & Nekromanteia

Even then you would do better as a wizard. On the otherhand a elf capstone sorcerer will put just as much lick on as any other build and have some rapier ability [for trash only]

edit: actually, Ive been thinking, a capstone nuker only version of this build might be interesting: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=189292

Play what you want, especially if it's your first guy. Will one of the other races they mentioned be slightly better? On paper yes. A crappy player, is still a crappy player though, no matter how uber the build. Just concentrate on being a good player, and the rest will come.

If you really want to tweak it, unlock drow and start a new guy if you don't mind leveling up again. Warforged/human are best if you have the 32 point builds unlocked, but since you say you're new, you wont' have that yet. That's why I play a drow myself, I haven't unlocked the 32 point builds yet.

Then again, you can BUY drow now, but you're still probably close to unlocking. Only takes 400 favor.
Just remember. Good build, bad build, it's all the same when you roll a 1.
