Default Graphics issue with PC faces

So I downloaded the update on Sept. 1st and logged in. When I got to the character select screen i noticed that all of my characters faces are either thousands of multi colored pixels or just black. Also if i see a Player Character from a distance their whole body is pixels. If they are up close only their face. Hirelings are messed up too. All NPCs are fine in the game. I have lowered my graphics and checked to make sure i have my latest drivers which i do. I have 4 gigs of RAM and my graphics card is Nvidia 8800 GTX. I can not figure out why this is happening.

I'd suggest a reinstall. If that doesn't do the trick, it sounds to me like your video card might be on the edge of dying (I'm no expert).

My dual 8800GTs just started acting funny one day out of the blue. Some change to a game I was playing (apparently) increased the graphics load and caused them to overheat, I think. That's how I learned that the fans are usually configured to run at 35-40%. I manually set my new card to run at 90%, has helped immensely with keeping the heat down.

The only other thing I could think of is, maybe there's some DX9/DX10 issue here? Not exactly sure how that might manifest itself.

Note that I don't think increasing your fan speed will help at all with your problem (though I think it's a good idea for everyone).

If you don't have software from the manufacturer to control the fan speed, I hear the program "SpeedFan" works well, though I haven't tried it myself.
