No way of creating account

ddo has made their website so off that new commers can download the game but no longer get a free tial better yet when you try to find a way to create an account you can't cause you need a product key..Turbine store doesn't have the digital download nor does direct2drive..what give? why can't people get this stuff so they can subscribe to the service offered..My friend is now stuck with a downloaded game and can't play because he can't get a trial account a support knowledge base links are dead..I want my friend to be able to play with me. How can my friend get his subscription now that is all we need to know thanks

The game is only available for current subscribers and Beta players, for the Head Start as noted in this news article here:
