Good news. Well for me at least. I got it working.
The solution was first to do a full uninstall (I actually backed up the DAT files so I didnt have to download 5Gb again).
Note. I have done this twice before.
The trick was to first delete the profiles under the users directories, and then use regedit to search for and delete every instance of Turbine in the registry. (If you do this, be very very careful)
There were many many instances left over from the Beta. And a few additional ones from the previous installations.
I then reinstalled the Turbine client. Started the DDO install/download. Dropped in the DAT files before it started to validate the directory and waited for it to finish.
Turbine, as someone that works in the industry as a software tester and system integrator. Your installer sucks donkey balls. Thanks to the support guys. You were sortof on the right path with the Beta client profile.
