VIP's have to buy favored soul?

You still need to unlock favored soul with the favor system. It works like Drow did in Stormreach.

However, you will see a "buy now" button as a VIP because if you go the favor route, it's per server (so if you started on a new server, you'd need to do the favor on that server to unlock it there). If you use Turbine Points it just unlocks it across all the servers at once.

by the way, i am jumping on the Cannith world, therefore completely starting over just like everyone else....

I think you can use your Tpoints, tp, (hmmm) to unlock Favaoured Soul. Will know when the patch finishes in 15 minutes or so. zzzzzzz what, oh thanx Tolero.

Favored Soul was on sale today I think it was around 500 tp.

Also, if you have the required favor on a character and cannot roll up a FvS you should log the favor character in and talk to the drow elder in the harbor.
