Same here. Prepatched last night, completely toasted today. UAC is OFF and I'm an admin.

Glad I'm on Free to Play and not giving you clowns any money.

and from what ive seen in these forums, it seems to be a common thing.

If this is what free play is going to do to a great game, please stop it...LOL

The validate option does nothing for me.

Yea I got the 201 error as well. funny thing how it only errors out when I click on the server name in the list and try to access Khyber.

Of course.. 32 bit XP /Admin and this was a fresh install. How can it be broken from a complete new install?

I am currently doing the repair/validate thing with tdm... I JUST LOVE how the only option is for me to uninstall the game I just downloaded for 4 hours so I can download it again.

PS- it just found 399 mb of files it needed again... cross fingers

yep. the 400 mb of missing files did the trick after I had to wait for it to verify the entire 4.8 gb of a clean install.

i'm using windows 10, so i'm not sure if its compatible yet. But i keep getting Error 201, i had the files and all of that, I'm so confused.

i got same error when i used ddolive.exe =(
otoh DDOProgressive_4.28.exe works well, at least for me.

I on XP with the same issues...

I am in the process of verify and repair..

Look likes it re downloading the client_*.dat files.. now still have 90min left in the patching...

I verified that I did have have all the client_*.dat files per the knowledge-base article discussing the error 201..

I am one of the few who must not read the forums, cause i did not find out i had to download a new client tell today.. and with all the problems its been nearly 12 hours now i been working on it. Grate you 9 of them been waiting for the dl to happen.

And no of this happen in the beta to me.....

I had this problem after re-installing the client due to getting the error connecting issue on the launcher (which ultimately I identified as an AV problem on my firewall)
Anyhow...previously my install was in c:\programdata\turbine folder...and after re-installing it went into the program files directory and I got the 201 error.
I suspect its UAC causing the problem along with only trusted installations being able to write to program files.
I would suggest changing the Installation directory to c:\turbine or even install it into the programdata folder and see if that solves the issues...

This appears to be an ongoing problem. I'm having the same issue, I've gone through all these posts and fixes. Wasted 12 hours for absolutely nothing.
