SO I downloaded the TDM for Eberron Unlimited and its running. ATM its downloading (or appears to be downloading) 4.8 gig of data.

As to on topic, i have never used TDM so i can't tell ya. Maybe mod 9 is just that big?

i believe you are downloading everything up to mod eight, just as we had before. i believe that current subscribers only have to launch as we normally have in past to update game. i'm sure i'll be corrected if i'm wrong. Some folks who have had the same install for years, might want to delete and reinstall as their client might be corrupted, tho i'm not so sure thats true in your case, but i dont know.

I have downloaded the TDM Client, it detected my already existing client, updated it to TDM, scanned and verified the data I already have and is now downloading only about 1.8 gig of the possible 4.8 gig of data.

So it seems it will only download the data it needs to download to ensure your install is up to scratch.

TDM is probably the better way to go, you can schedule when downloads happen which is excellent for those people who have on peak/off peak download/speed limits.

I'm going to assume (oh btw I've been playing all along so i have all current patches/updates) its downloading everything up to mod8 + patches. Why it didnt detect that I already had everything current? No clue.

Here is a sobering thought for those thinking you can just start game and load mod9. What if Turbine is making TDM mandatory for download. If you already dont have, you could be spending hours trying to get it tomorrow.

Probably not though. Don't think Turbine would make it necessary.

Oh well, i'll let it finish and it bugs something i'll just uninstall the whole game and reinstallw/ hi res. My game is the Beta version, 3 + yrs old.

I deleted my client and downloaded a fresh full hi res install, Aeg. Hopefully that works out for me.
