unistall / reinstall?

In an effort to reduce the lag I experience (which is only really horribkle in the Shroud - and getting worse), I am wondering if I should re-install the game tonight.

Scenario: My PC is suboptimal. No point in upgrading hardware as I'm planning on a new PC early next year. I defrag pretty often but there is always a huge clump of DDO files that won't defrag. I have read that uninstalling and reinstalling clears out some of these files and can help with lag. When I first started Shrouding, the lag was not bad. Now it is **** near unplayable (esp. part 1 but other parts getting worse). This leads me to believe it is DPS lag and there may not be much I can do about it. Just read Aspenor's lag post and it sounds like I'm in the same boat he is, although I have a much older and lower end PC than he.

So, would it be worth it uninstall and reinstall tonight? If so, any particular way I should go about it? Thanks for opinions / tips.
