He probably asked for a couple remove poison, curse, and disease potions. When no one could do that he probably asked for some repair or cure potions and the group couldn't even do that.

Yah, it sounds like the "unselfish" group didn't make a legit offer because they intended to browbeat him into giving it to them. I can accept that certain types of peeps want something for nothing, but to then get all self-righteous about it when they don't get their way is a bit much.

That would be fair, except that if it was true, it would ALL be handled in PMs. The OP would post about the incident and peeps who were GENUINELY interested would send a PM asking for his name. Instead, people are publicly asking for his name, to pressure him and other players to give away their raid loot. Peer pressure.

Publicly posting "send me his name so I can punish him" is a lame attempt to browbeat people into giving away loot you say they don't need.

I don't understand some things:

- the difference between selling raid loot and selling any other loot - if you loot a DoD and I'm the only WF in the party, you should give it to ME!
- why people think "letting people join their raids" somehow entitles them to tell them what to do with loot they pull. Even if you'd short-manned it, you never would've gotten that loot anyway.



Now, I've never bought/sold non-tome raid loot, but I have bought/sold +3 tomes, mainly with the chinese, who seem to do it all the time. I thought it was a fairly common practice on the server. (Maybe it is, except with Quik =P)

Guess Im just a mean ole brow beating socialist. I dont even want the name because a person like that would stand out in any raid im in. And I can judge for myself if he/she is greedy or just dont understand raid etiquette.

Like I said no one here that I seen has said "oh they have to give it to me" in fact many of us said if the wizard needed it to boost his/her stat there would have been no issue. The fact is they took a tome thats bound with sorcs rogues who yes can use a tome to boost their umd as well via charisma out of spite. Not because they could use it because they wanted money for it. Fine thats their right no one said that it was not.

But its our right not to want to group with someone like that. I know personally that ive gotten many things in chests from rolling that Id still probably be hunting for. Thats the main reason I do not mind letting people roll on stuff I have no use for especially bound items. But my way of playing is not the only way I realize this. I do also realize that I would not want to play with anyone who would rather auction off a piece of rare loot and keep it when no one offers to pay when to me its more accepted to allow it to be up for a roll. I believe that person would have made out better in the long run by being generous but thats the way I enjoy the game and will distance myself from those who play other wise to keep my in game harmony going.

This is how I do things..I have given loot that I could of used on a certain class but was not a priority per say as another class can really use it say Caster/Cleric in the party. Etc. Cha Tome Plssssssss LMAO who the * wants it...!!! Roll!!! I only been playing since what Sep06.. He must be some nub. Or someone who wants to bust balls. If he could use it take it..

IMO the difference is everyone in the raid should have a fair shot at loot in there. Why should I have a better shot than the new guy, or the casual player at tharnes goggles? Just because I have more plat or ingredients? I dont like it. If we shortmanned it we might not have gotten it, maybe we would who knows. Ive seen several items drop outta a chest in shortmanned raids.

I dont presume to tell peeps what to do with their loot. I do however choose not to group with peeps that practice what I consider shady loot practices. IMO auctioning off bound raid loot is shady.

I have seen time and time again, peeps that blacklist others for playing certain ways. Oh i dont group with him because he zergs. I dont group with her because she doesnt heal. I dont group with him because he runs into the center in shroud 2 and pulls all the mobs over and over, etc. How is this any different.

Im not sure I understand what the big deal is, if his behavior is ok then let him into all the raids you lead, and he wont even notice if others dont let him in theirs.


edit:: Yes I have been in Chinese groups that sell or auction their loot. I know that going in. When I am in those groups I dont participate in loot auctions. I just get my completion and go. The harpers roll on all loot. I think thats fair and gives everyone a chance at something who wants it, so I participate in that, though they have never told me that I had too.

Ok so let's say I have a car that I won in vegas it was a Hummer, but I don't need a Hummer I need a sub compact car with really good gas Mileage. Should I let everyone in the casino roll on it to see which one of the lucky people gets my new car?? I can see your point... I was speaking of witnessing such acts myself... I would never blackball someone on hearsay... (technically, I've only blackballed about 5 people in this game, and never about raid loot)

This is rather obvious... Bound vs. Unbound... If you loot a DoD, you can give it to one of your alts, or sell it for big bucks on the AH... Bound loot cannot be given to an alt, or sold on the AH... If it's worthless to the character who pulled it, it's worthless...

So what kind of person would just throw away something that is worthless to them, yet greatly sought after by others?

Again, it comes down to that 5% of absolute cases... Like, for instance, a WF looting raid armor, or a human looting a WF docent, or a fighter taking the Reaver's napkin (+6 INT cloak, +1 DC to all spells)....

so i had the pleasure of doing a reaver earlier all went well till we popped the chest and lone and behold a +3 chr tome...it dropped for a wiz who stated he didnt need it and was taken offers...there was about 5 other ppl in grp that could have used it (sorcs and rogues)...no one offered him anything but the chance to roll for it...hes says negative and loots the tome...imo if he needed it loot it but he didnt so let ppl roll on it and dont be greedy...this just a friendly reminder that this IS a grinding game so dont be greedy

It should also be noted that this falls under the DDO harassment policy and would result in disciplinary action.

First, your showing "entitlement" because you believe someone "should" give up something that YOU BELIEVE they dont "need". In this example, yes the Wizard did state that he did not need it and was willing to part with it for a fee. Upon no one offering to pay for it, he decided to keep it. There is nothing wrong with that! Even if he had already used a +3 CHR tome on that character before, vendor trashing that tome would at least get him SOMETHING rather then nothing. I find it hard to believe that out of all the people present, no one could at least pony up 10k PP for a +3 Tome

Second, your showing your gullibility because your willing to put someone on ignore based ONLY on someone posting a statement of thier supposedly doing something wrong in game. Did you ever stop to think that maybe you willingness to do that could be abused by someone? Ever think there are some ******** in this game who would possibly come on the forums with a made up story and get you to start ignoring someone who doesn't deserve to be ignored?

Vendor trashing a tome? Really? Dont ever group with me pls. Names are in sig, feel free to decline me with a simple tell, "I dont group with peeps with your raid loot philosophy"
