    Default Skill usefulness

    http://ddowiki.com/page/Skill_usefulness

I was bored tonight, and could not fall asleep so I updated that antiquity. If you want to read the previous version, you can find it here. It was long overdue. The last true revision was done the week I started my DDO trial, to give you an idea of how out dated it was.

By the way, there are tons of pages like that on the wiki. So, if you want to help, I can point you in their direction.

Anyway, I post here in case you guys want to nitpick what I wrote, edit it or make it more complete - which I am sure you will do. Anything is fine, from spelling mistakes, unnatural or weird wording, incomplete or incorrect information, etc. Go ahead and tear it to shreds. I want the best quality for that page, so that it can be used as a reference in the future.

I'll probably come back to that page tomorrow when I'm less tired and add more to it, too, but I figured I could let the forumites help me out.

You can either directly edit the page or post here about your complaints. Either is fine with me.

It would be good if pages like that had a home... a category like "articles" where they could be found. Imagine you were a new player coming to the wiki's frontpage... how would you find Skill Usefulness?

Thus far, the ddowiki structure has been unwelcoming towards entries that aren't based on transcriptions directly visible in-game information, or at least based on that.

If you make an Articles section, you might want to subdivide it so that things which are mostly just research ("This is how mobs react to stealth") are separate from things with an aspect of opinion ("This is why trying to be stealthy is unproductive").

We have a category for that now. I just forgot to add the tag.

I'll to expend more on that idea in the future, like making a meta-template to make clear it's mostly opinion and develop the category branching better. Feedback on that aspect is, of course, welcome. Suggestions on how to do it are even more.

    Questions:

    1) you have Diplomacy listed as an active skill....and a benefit to reduce aggro against you.... but, how is that done? Do you actually stop and make Diplomacy checks during combat???

    2) Does Spot give you a greater range to see monsters at a distance?

I can tell you for CERTAIN - that Search is the most important Rogue skill by far. The search is the hard part... party members are.... forgiving.... when a disable goes wrong.

Yes, you push the Diplo icon and make a d20 skill check, then the effected enemy puts you at the bottom of his attack priority for 10 seconds.

Note that I have observed it won't put you below hirelings.

Do you mean the price where price sold = purchase price?

It's something like 125, if I remember correctly, and is correctly unobtainable.
