Who said it is for noobs? I have multiple plat capped characters and I would gladly throw 300k plat for taps if I needed them, there are never any taps on the AH on ghallanda anymore, I'd be glad to not have to go farm them.

By the time they reach lvl11 and they are told that Minos Legens is by far the best helmet they can get, they should have that much plat.

Actually when I started playing this game, I made quite a bit of money playing the AH market. Every cheap +1 tome I found, every 1 dragon scale I found, etc. I would buy and flip immediately. Before I knew it I had amassed about 400k pp (I was lvl9 I think) I haven't really sold much at AH since other than a full set of blue scales -- which still are highly sought after.

I see taps on ghalla all the time..... right now there are 2 1/2 pages of em selling for about 20K for a stack of 20.

after almost 4yrs of play 300k plat would wipe 2-3 of my 10 characters (7 capped) clean of all thier cash.
I typically wont spend more than 50k plat on anything...... more than that Ill farm or trade for it.

Plat isn't all that hard to get. I farmed about 80K plat in one day with multiple (leaving after part 5) Shroud runs (and maybe some SoS) by selling the random loot received. This was with only a level 5 Haggle bard (26 selfbuffed haggle).

Even though I can farm the plat for taps I can still farm 20 taps in less time than 300K plat.

Hmmm not really. If you read my example all you need is a keen eye and risk taking. See what are the items that move high volume. See how high do these usually sell for and see if you can make a profit (even if small) by bundling and flipping. Now, in today's DDOs that's hard to do, I reckon, because relatively low population limits the market. But back in the "hayday" of Mod4 it was not very hard at all. In fact, one of my work buddies that joined this game with me made much more money that I did by making a market out of everything ... scepters, potions, robes and everything in between. He would literally spend 3 hours playing AH (and not questing) and man, he had it down to a science. He quit the game plat-rich and his highest level toon was lvl8.

no offense DDO guest, welcome to the game and all but most of the fine people on argo have been doing this for a lot longer than you and dont need your PSA lol. as im sure you have gathered from the other posts here not a lot of peeps have an issue with it, some of the ah prices are high but players have plenty of other options, the fact that youre so up in arms tells me you havent figured out those options yet.. argo might not be the best place to preach your do gooder PSA messages.

lol i wasnt bragging, i was laughing at how upset people would get when someone has more fake items than they do. if the ah bothers you that much i would suggest finding a game more your speed. id suggest chutes and ladders but its so unjust how some people slide down the chutes that im not sure you could handle it.
