Default Search Function in Auction House

Not sure if this has been brought up b4, but even so it bears repeating. Without search functioning the auction house is a lame duck. Other games do it so can D&D online. The auction house is a real time vampire the way it is now.

I'm with you on that one. It makes a lot of sense.

Indeed, but unlike the other incarnations, this one simply asks for a search.

I see no mention of "Make the bad people stop being greedy so I can buy the uber leet stuff I crave!".

I can totally get behind more search controls in the AH.

Want to spend more time playing the game rather than paging though stuff in order to find the item you need to help for that dungeon adventure.

I like the Auction House the way it is. Those who spend a tiny bit more time find the items they are looking for on the AH. As soon as you all can search the items I spend time looking for will be harder for me to find.

I wouldn't mind seeing a search function. But even if they dont put that in, what would be nice is if, when you click Name, it would sort all the pages. Rather then just sorting each page separate.

I think the first bevy of complaints from the F2P'ers is going to be about the auction house... an intuitive, robust interface is really something that a modern MMO'er would expect.

I'd love to be able to search for an item by specifying, say, a level, a particular effect and a bonus. Since we're hopefully looking at a slew of new players, that means a lot more auctions where this type of feature would really be appreciated.

I cant say I don't agree with you, but there is a flaw in your idea. DDO has thousands and possibly millions different combinations of loot that is generated every day as you open your chests. If you are looking lets say, for a smiter, how do you know what other mods are already on the weapon that is hiding somewhere amongst those pages of the auction? Therefore you search being useless (unless your looking for a named item) If we are to have some kind of search system, we should have an option of either searching for the prefix or the suffix, otherwise search being a complete waste of the developers efforts.

    Exactly.
Having a pull down menu with whatever prefix / suffix we're looking for shouldn't be too hard.

I agree with this. Currently I'm looking for a + to heal/spells in general, and having to look through each page for each weapon is quite annoying. If I could just write "potency" in a search field and get them all, that'd be so much more convenient.
