Okay so I am not a programmer but....
I used to play a game that shallnot be named and after awhile became borred with it... then I was introduced to MACROQUEST.. this allowed me to do all kinds of cool things but the best was autoprogram other members of my party..(real char mind you) to assist me in the game.. they would melee, heal, track mobs, whatever I wanted and I could control the MACRO's that made them do this and even change the variables that made it work... why for the love of god can I write code...sorrta.... that would allow "npc" to act in ways that would mimic how a player would react and these game programers can not...
they would heal if they got below xxx vairable of health... they would only attack after the mob was below xxx health.. they would not get closer than xxx or farther than xxx so they could stay in melee range no matter what. if they where at xxx hps and my target was at xxx hps they would cast xx spell... if a gm came into the zone...we would all insta dcjust in case
why for the love of ddo can we not do similar things with npc code? it would fix so many pathing and behavior problems....and its REALLY easy to do....
mister kobald is programed to assist all other kobalds withen xxx aoe and agro on the pc with the lowest hps ie drawn to blood/weakness if mister kobald and his buddies are getting pawned then they attempt to heal other kobalds or attempt to retreat xx and range...if they cant get xxx withen xxx amount of time then they take on a definsive fighting stance and attempt to gather together in a last stand....or flee for help if only xxx number of npc are left vrs xxxx number of players.........I can see an entire mod of just improving the content that is in the game. Please Please make the npc's behave in more realistic ways... hell make yourself a kobald and see what would work best for you then try to mimic what you do with AI.. I am sure you would find alot of "cool: neat little things you can do that would make it alot more fun.
btw dont use any haxors now... that was a few years ago![]()
