Default I need advice on a build

I'm very new to DDO and only played a little table top back in the good ole days. Needless to say all that I know I learned in Beta over the last couple of months. When Unlimited goes live I'll be rolling up a Drow 12/6/2 fighter/Ranger/Monk like I was enjoying the hell out of on Lam. The problem here is that I don't have Drow unlocked on Live (wich shouldn't take long) but if I am going to make another character I'd like to make one that isn't a throw away.

    Goals for the build
    1) VERY SOLOABLE
    2) I want to be able to disable ANY trap/lock in the game
    3) Spot and search as high as is needed to spot and find everything
    4) Party purpose other than trap monkey (buffs/heals/DPS) I don't realy care which one since my "Monster" will be my DPS
    5) VERY SOLOABLE .... did I say that twice? =D

I just want to get Drow and 32 point builds unlocked by Sept. 1st... I don't think that 32 pt will happen since I'm very casual in my play time but I'll try.

    Consider a warforged rogue 2/wizard 18 or halfling rogue 2/cleric 18.

Both have innate self healing, the rogue levels will get you evasion, either uses synergistic stats (INT for search and wizard spells, WIS for spot and cleric spells). Personally, I think the warforged rogue/wizard is the better choice but a buff-bot/heal-bot rogue will probably get lots of group work along with being very solo friendly. Toss in a level of monk to get the AC boost from WIS and the rogue/cleric combo would be very strong. Just make sure to keep INT relatively high if you do choose rogue/cleric/(monk).

    1) 18 wiz/2 rogue comes to mind
    2) When you say solo WF comes to mind
    3) When you say highest possible search and spot Drow comes to mind

an 18/2 WF wiz/rogue should be able to do any trap on elite at the right level for the quest except for the 1 in GH. I think you need to be about 70 for it and you will likely only be at about 55-60 when you get there. But except for that 1 optional trap in GH the 18/2 WF wiz is what I think you are after.

Drow is the way to go if.

    @Clawkin

There are hundreds of traps and locks in the game who can be dealt with without having to gimp your character into a non-combatant trap-monkey role. A moderate INT, maxed skill ranks, skill items and INT item when disabling, a skill boost are enough to be perfectly capable when dealing with traps.

And then there is the one (1) trap & chest in the whole game, in a Gianthold quest which has a ridiculously high DC. To get that trap you´d need to make so many build sacrifices that this will leave you weak and much less capable of contributing to the groups success. And i am talking about real sacrifices, not just about some slight alterations in your build.
This is not worth it, with emphasis and broad text!

You will be off much better if you build a character who is capable to deal with each and every trap or lock, except the "Cabal for One" one.
Erzskalde (Warchanter) / Erzassassin (just passing through - ignore me) / Erzsoldat (waiting for TR-time) / Erzschmied (ranged Artificer)
