Flickering Screen and/or Black screen with GUI

I've been playing on the Lammania server exclusively since the DDO Unlimited beta started, and now when I try to log into the Live servers the screen flickers continually. If I <alt><enter> to go to windowed mode, the GUI shows up and I can check my graphics settings.

Then I see that use DirectX 10 is no longer selected and I can't activate it. Everything worked fine on Lammania up until the end last night.

Any suggestions? I'm not able to play on the Live servers atm. Although, it's not nearly as much fun as it will be when the changes go live.

Try renaming your userpreferences.ini file** (eg. olduserpreferences.ini) and relaunching to test.

**I't should be in "Documents" (Vista) or "My Documents" (XP) > "Dungeons and Dragons Online"

This did not take care of the issue. Also still will not allow me to enable DirectX 10 graphics. I am running Vista Ultimate 64-bit. Everything was running fine while I was playing the DDO Unlimited beta.

Check the game files in C:\Program Files\Turbine\Dungeons & Dragons Online - Stormreach

"TurbineLauncher.exe"
"TurbineInvoker.exe"
"Dndclient.exe"

(They might list without the .exe, they'll be the ones listed as "Applications" and will have icons though, red-shield for launcher and invoker and client will be a grey box)

Right-click on each of them choosing "Properties" and in there under the "Compatibility" tab make sure that none of them is set to run in "Compatibility" mode.
