Default New guild for new players

Hello. I'm either looking for (if one exists) or thinking of creating (if none) a guild for new players. I've been playing in the test server, and it's been mostly great experiences. Only times I haven't enjoyed quests is when an obviously old player joins the group and just runs around knowing where everything is, telling the rogue exactly where each trap and trap box is located (which I'm sure is part of the fun of being a rogue). I'm not interested (at all) in being twinked or getting free 'pots' (I learned that's how they call potions, them old players), just in being in groups where the other people are seeing things for their first (or second or third) time just like me.
    Any advice?

I think I ran with you the other day on Butterfists... and gave ya some pp...lol.
As far as newbie guild there used to be one called Lowriders... but I dont think there around anymore.
I am sure some will chime in with a guild that goes super slow.. lol.
But as far as pugging low level quests, its a zergfest usually.

post your own lfms that say slow. no spoliers. etc etc. and do not join anything that says zerg, quick, rush,BYOH, or anything to that effect. if ya follow those guidelines you will more than likely be able to play with people that fit more to your style of play. good luck

If you made any "friends" on the test server, see if they are also willing to start characters on the same live server. Sarlona in this case. That would be a start.

Most guilds build up successful membership by inviting players that they play with and enjoy running quests with. So start up quests using the LFM tag. Post a comment about being new player/no spoilers please in the comment portion. That should filter out the know it alls. Do not be afraid to just recall and drop the group if you get an bleephole. Most low level quests can be handled with just a couple of characters, which makes it much easier to learn about the other players.

Form a guild. Give it a name you like (since it is not easy to change later.) For example when my brother-in-law and I first started, we formed a guild called - Friends of Tim. Had a few of his friends in it for a while too. It was mostly for convience sake so we could more easily see who was online at the time.

Once you get a few players of like minded nature in your guild, it becomes easier to add more as you will meet more and more players as long as you join groups and form them.

If you look above, under "Sarlona GUilds" there are a few guilds advertising for new players that seem like what you are looking for, gl

Yeah, that's a real problem. One of my best friends tried the game and quit after a few days because of that. I'm an old timer and I try to be sensitive to that in general. But if a person tells me they don't want any spoilers, I'll be extra careful. I think others are also happy to comply.

As for guilds, I'm pretty sure the "Lowriders" as someone else mentioned are not into that. I've been told that they are a guild for Neo Skullriders lowbies until they reach a certain level... NSR is definitely not a "take it slow" kind of guild. lol.

The only tips I have are:
    1. Make your own groups. Post in the LFG what you are after.

    1. Use Hirelings. Your groups won't fill as fast because there are a lot of people who want to zerg. But 3 people with 3 hirelings is often a great thing.

    1. Repeat via voice (or party chat if you don't have voice) that you don't want any spoilers and you want to actually experience the quests as an explorer. This is important because a lot of people don't really read LFGs. Let people know that if they aren't ok with that, they should feel free to drop group.

Good luck. If you get a toon to cap before mod 9, I'd be happy to run the new stuff with ya so we'll both be exploring.

    Cheers!

The original Lowriders has been disbanded for a while now. Im not sure they were a minor league for NSR either, although there was some co-opness.

Many LR did make it into NSR eventually, but no, LR was not specifically a guild for NSR lowbies.

LR was disbanded several months ago, for what it's worth.

Is Random Allies the New Lowriders?

    From their Sarlon Guild post

"Random Allies is a Low-to-Mid level Assistance Guild. We get new players started off and running all the way up to level 13. We help with builds, quests, money, items, advice...all the things a new player or new toon needs to get where they're going. Random Allies does not discriminate against anything including age, though I would warn of a few slips of the tongue or so. It happens and is easily forgiven."

Could be, sounds very much like what the Lowriders charter was like back then. Problem was as I saw was most of the Lowriders became Highriders or noriders and those remaining were not as interested in the original concept. Too bad, it was a nice effort.

I can strongly recommend dedicated teams to get that "exploring new quest" fun feeling. Personally, when a new quest comes out, I'll either run it only with people who haven't run it (and like me will enjoy exploring it slowly), or if necessary, solo it, just to get that same new quest feeling.
Devs: Thanks for making Druids available to VIPs without the pack. This more than anything, has made me want to buy the pack.

if you were on ghalanda, you would find Illuminatis to your liking.
    <this is a sub guild>
several types of players, plenty of noobs and a huge population,
    < typically 25 to 30 people on,>
old school players from different guilds to lvl and leave zerg style.
completly new players that do what your about, and those in between,
i'm sure some will call it home and others will become knights.

Let me know by this forum if you start a guild. I would be interested in joining up on sarlona server.
