    Default Cant make this build.

    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=193547

On post 7, Mediocresurgeon lists a build with stats I cant achieve. There is no way to get those stats that I can see... is this a 32 point build? I'm so new I'm not even sure how to get the '32 points' but the thread asked for a starter build so I figured it would be a 28 point...

    Am I missing something?

Obviously I'd love to ask over there, but I'm the 10 day so I cant post anywhere but here.

Its a Warforged race (+2 Con -2 Wis -2 Cha)

Its also using 32 point build - you get this by achieving 1750 favour on any character.

With 28 point build, I'd just drop the Con from 18 to 16 and you're good if thats the build you really want to run.

Personally, I don't think its a brilliant build, but that's my opinion (Maximise at level 1, Quicken on a Sorcerer, tons of hard to get raid gear, generalised enhancements aren't great choices to me)

Gaining 400 favour on a character will unlock Drow race which you can spend 28 points on, though they get +2 Dex +2 Int and +2 Cha (-2 Con) which makes them effectively 32 point builds. Drow make excellent Sorcerers so that might be another option to look at.

Thanks for the feedback - do you have a WF wizard or Sorc build that is solid for beginners if this one isn't advisable? I'm just looking for a solid build that is fairly friendly for beginners. I'm also looking for something like a ranger or twf paladin type build.

D&D based games always seem to have a pretty long ramp-up on learning curve so I tend to ask for help early so I don't find the character lacking and have to re-roll.

    Thanks in advance.

Aranticus has a 28 point build thread aimed at new players, but it's short on WF.

Daemonis maintains a WF build thread, but most of those are 32 pointers.

My usual advice on first casters is wizard, as you can get a feel for what all the various spells do (costs you a bit in inscription materielas & scrolls, but it's cheaper/faster than trying everything by paying for sorc spell replacements). If you want to play a wf sorc, crank charisma to 16, throw 14 or 16 to constitution, and work in a little of the other stats as you see fit. If you really want more on the other stats, you can absorb a charisma drop (that sound you heard is the powergamers having seizures) of a point or two, although that WF hit on charisma is already hitting your spell save scores pretty hard.

28 points would look something like:
    str 10
    dex 10
    con 16
    int 8
    wis 8
    cha 16

You'll have hitpoints and spell points. Try to avoid ticking anything off without a couple of meat type cohorts in front of you. Things will occasionally get through, but that's what you have hitpoints for.

Usual feats (in no particular order) are things like maximise, empower, extend (for buffs), quicken, maybe a focus/greater focus duo for DCs on spells you like, or spell pen/greater spell pen if you want to do lots of instadeath and crowd control at upper levels (things get spell resistance). Pick 6 and run with it. Tips: maximise is slightly more SP efficient than empower, shields cause arcane spell failure in exchange for blocking damage reduction (use sparingly), firewall is your bestest friend until you have to deal with devils (maybe lev 14 or so), and people love their friendly neighborhood crack (haste) dealer.
