    Question voice chat

I realize this isn't actually game related but I'm looking for help. I just bought a logitech usb headset and I just tried it in a group run and I could hear everything but no one could hear me. I thought I checked all the proper settings so I don't know what is up. do I need a certain headset or what? I did try one first w/ speaker like connections but could only hear out of one ear.

Alright! To start things off USB sound devices count as their own "sound card."

I have it setup so that voice chat is played through my headset and all other sound is played through my speakers by my sound card.

When you go into your DDO config under the sound tab, there should be a lot of options for sound playback with a dropdown menu.

I can't get in game to give you the specifics, but it's a start.

Under Voicechat make sure your playback is set to "Logitech USB Headset" and your recording device is set to "Logitech USB Headset" instead of the default recording of the mic slot on your sound card. Then, make sure that all of the game sound is set to your sound card .. "might say Nforce Audio..SoundMAX Audio" whatever your onboard sound or soundcard is.

When you use a USB mic this way it will open a separate channel when you talk and there will be minimal to no feedback as well as you being able to hear your fellows crisply in your ears compared to the environment sound.

I hope this helps as I'm perusing while trying to fix my graphics problem *laughs*

    *EDIT*

    ALSO!

    Go to

Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio - > Audio

    Sound Playback -> Your Soundcard
Sound Recording -> Logitech USB Headset

    Make sure it says this

    *EDIT2*

Also, unless you are using handsfree voicechat, make sure you bind your push to talk key in the keymappings as IT DOES NOT HAVE A DEFAULT SETTING

I use Control as it is easier for me to talk and still perform while holding down control, but to each his own.

    Default No Change

I do appreciate the advice Rhap but still no luck. When I even check "mic check" on audio options, I assume I'm supposed to see a sound graph or some indication my boom mic is working but I don't... Do you Rhap, or anyone else have any more ideas?

    Oh..Just one more question..

Is your volume control on your mic flashing blue?

If so, press it again to unmute.

With the Logitech Headsets especially, hitting that mute button can be easy as pie and as there is no on screen indicator that you do it. I once talked during a raid for 10 minutes without realizing it.

By the way: The mic selection is at the very bottom of the audio options in game ONLY WHEN YOU ARE LOGGED INTO A CHARACTER!

Right now my options look like this.

Audio Playback -> Soundmax Digital Audio
    *SCROLL DOWN TO THE END*
Voice Chat Playback -> Logitech USB Headset
Voice Chat Recording -> Logitech USB Headset
