Because that would be the intelligent thing to do, and we all know Turbine doesn't always look for the intelligent thing to do.

I believe Tolero is at Gencon because Tolero Likes to go to Gencon. SHes not there in an official capacity at all...

You could Say Merlask is at Gencon. Tolero is still chained ot the cubicle.

Turbine will have a company presence at PAX again this year. Although - for the past two years it's been mostly to hype LotRO. Granted, last year I think they had three machines running DDO showing off Korthos - but it was still a minority of what they were showing. For example - LotRO had a convention-wide puzzle hunt and ads in the PAX program... DDO had three machines in the back of the booth.

I'm hoping that Turbine will use the opportunity to generate some buzz on DDO: EU at the con this year... but experience has shown me not to hope for much. Likely, they'll trot the cash-cow out again, and leave DDO behind the barn.
