I finally rolled a cleric and have him to lvl 17.

    Is he a healbot? No

    Is he a Battlecleric? No

In fact, I'm not quite sure what he is. I love to melee with him, love me some greater command/cometfall/power drain/bladebarrier.

Do I heal? **** skippy, I probably overheal as I still don't have the hang of it.

Here is my retort to "low mana clerics" Learn to compensate. My cleric has made me more $$$ than any other toon, including my high haggle Sorceress.

I use scrolls instead of mana when I can. Why??? It just makes more sense to me, especially with the newer quests when I wasn't sure what was around the corner.

I have solo healed the Shroud before by accident as well as a quite mesed up VoD elite run.

Having said that, would I want to do it on purpose, hell no. I don't mind burning resources, but I won't burn them just to pull a gimped ass group through a normal quest. I try to have all my toons be as self sufficient as I can.

If my gimp a$$ can do it, so can anybody else.

Everything else is meh. Enjoy your game your way and I'll enjoy it my way. If our styles clash, feel free not to run with me in the future....ya know I won't get all butt hurt over it.

Not calling anyone out in particular here...but you know who you are

Ive run with your cleric I think you do better then you give yourself credit for specially during a LL zerg threw Gianthold hehe

And its true out of all my girls my clerics make the most money why? because when it comes down to it there is only one class (okay maybe two now with Favored soul) that is almost always guarenteed a place in a party make up. And if your halfway decent at doing so you always get an invite. So even with limited mana a good cleric one who keeps the party going not just healing boo boos will always be welcomed in my eyes and I personally enjoy seeing clerics who get kills

Just remember Kal, not everyone is as enlightened as you are. I still hear chat in groups complaining about a cleric "letting someone die" because they we dropping some CC to prevent an entire party wipe.

Its these jackholes that just don't now and never will get it. I can't believe that I am actually somewhat selective who I run with now on my cleric. I used to jump in every single PUG I could find, just as I do with any of my toons.

I'm just tired...has been a long day. I need to get my swerve on this weekend and finish leveling some toons I guess. Too little DDO makes me angry when work has been sucking ass.

    Default Two cents time.

We are all ranting on a few line of summery here. I hope we all can agree that now more than ever we need to do some things. Teach people that don't know what to carry, well what to start to carry to help to support themselves some. Or if they can't remember to buy scrolls and pots, learn to develop a generous personalty to help cover costs of the people that do cover that weight.

Every class, group or play style has its costs that go a lot with it. But sometimes a little knowledge offered as advise can go a long way. “Hey they sell P/S of X that remove Y at the Q vendor. When then run is over let me show you and pick you up a short stack.”

The long of it is, No one else is required to do anything to help you! You need to be able to help yourself you can hope that others will be there that you can count on but in the heat of battle it is up to you and you alone. You can blame the Clr, or lag, or whatever but you made the call that put your PC in that encounter and if you really want to find the source of the blame find a mirror.

You might have gotten a nickel.

*hugs* I hope ya get to play this weekend and yeah I hear you anytime I hear someone go "that cleric let me die" I make a note of that player they never go on about how they ran and aggroed stuff they cant handle or went too far ahead for a heal to hit them. Nope clerics are supposed to magically fix everything including stupid.. and you all know what Ron White has to say about that now

    Thumbs up New Thread

I was actually inspired by this thread to post something. Doesn't happen very often. I thought it more appropriate in another section.

THE guiding principle of successful clerics...

I CANNOT HEAL STUPID, NOR WILL I TRY.

    Once is excitment.
    Twice is Arrogance.
    Thrice is getting Stupid.

When you get to the stupid zone, (which is for loading and unloading only), you have hit that part of the questing experience where a stone in the hand is now worth 3 roaming the bush.

My favorite is when playing my Cleric and I end up getting hit with Stat Damage that makes me helpless or incapped and the rest of the part stands around lacking HPs or with Stat Damage as well and stares at me.

Me: "So no one is carrying a X?"
Them: "Um, why would we carry that, we have you."
Me: "Well, I think this illustrates the problem with that train of thought."

Luckily we now regenerate lost stat damage and levels over time. Now I don't have to over think my decision to say, "Low on SPs, you might have to wait." because if they would just wait a bit it will go away.
