What differentiates psychopaths from the successful business person is the lack of a sense of ethics. They both play golf; but the psychopath will cheat while the true golfer will call the penalty against himself.

The Philanthropist does not play golf, but volunteers at the Salvation Army or Habitat for Humanity is his leisure time. One with true virtue does not waste his time with trivial things like sports.
Thus, the definition of a corporate psycho is skewed, but the loosest details are generally a lack of concern for those who they have stewardship over, an inclinantion to distance themselves from any and every person who does not fit specific material criteria...

Successful businessmen are aspiring sociopaths, typically. I do make a distinction between the terms 'psychopath' and 'sociopath,' but my definition of the terms may be a little off.
The victorious strategist only seeks battle after the victory has been won, whereas he who is destined to defeat first fights and afterwards looks for victory. - Sun Tzu

Look at that subtle off-white coloring. The tasteful thickness of it. Oh my God, it even has a watermark.

I usually believe that mentally unbalanced people don't go into business. The act of being in business makes people mentally unbalanced. There's only so much sufferance of useless morons you can take before you start to go slightly odd.
Bullocks.
Successful small business owners are the lifeblood of the economy. The majority are honest and hardworking, not sociapaths, employing millions who are too lazy to take control of their own financial destiny. These same lazy people give lip service to charitable causes because it makes them feel better about themselves. These same lazy people villify successful businessmen out of petty jealousy and envy.
And sports are not trivial - they teach teamwork and leadership skills. And they teach you to push yourself beyond your known limits.
Philanthropy? Bill Gates Foundation. Microsoft.

When studying accountancy I always found the course on 'business ethics' to be the most laughable. Its a contradiction in terms, like 'military intelligence.'
Conciousness is determined by being -- If you're running with wolves you become a wolf or get eaten. The 'good nature' of the individual has very little to do with it indeed.
The Bill Gates Foundation is one of the biggest tax avoidance schemes in existence. Regarding the rest of this rant, it reminds me of a guy called 'Bounderby' from 'Hard Times' by Dcikens**. I'd link to the wiki but that would spoil the story and its a cracking good read.
(umm, shouldn't this be in the off-topic thread?)
Edit:
** laughably I couldn't put in the name one of the most popular writers of the 19th century because of the 21st century morality police. I wonder what he would have thought of that?
