    Default Undying Court and Scimitars?

I'm not too familiar with Eberron, but...

Isn't the headquarters of the Undying Court in Aerenal? It's like a postive-energy undead cult. Don't Aereni Elves favor the longsword?

Scimitars are the weapon of Valeni. They live on the steppes of Valenar with their horse herds. Their religion is a druidic horse-cult.

So now we are going to have a deluge of Favored Souls who are Valeni favored of the Undying Court. Is that true to the source material?

Did DDO just make scimitar the weapon of Undying Court because longsword was taken? Am I missing something?

    And gives us horses already!

no, they favor the scimitar, falchion, and dual-bladed scimitar.

The longsword is the favorite of your normal Khorvaire elf.

Valenar is a nation that was once a part of Aerenal.

Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.

I am unfamilar with the valenar in 3.5 (i'm old school dnd). The new enhancement says they favor curved blades. Would kukris also fit in this category? or are scimitars and falchions the only weapons specifically listed for them in PnP3.5?

Valenar elves treat the double scimitar as martial rather than exotic.
No loss of specific elven weapon feats.
    Per Eberron campaign setting p.27

So they fudged a little on this.

That is probably too overpowered for DDO. Just imagine a Frenzied Berserker elf with Power Attack enhancements like a Warforged, plus their Racial Damage while duel-wielding scimitars! Actually, opening up Revenant Blade as a racial PrE would be pretty cool, especially considering that right now they only have Arcane Archer (which nobody cares about).

My favored Eberron melee build is an Elf Barbarian/Ranger/Revenant Blade/Frenzied Berserker.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the Revenant Blade PrC, it lets you get x1.5 strength-to-damage on Double Scimitars and x2 Power Attack damage, essentially combining the best parts of TWF and THF on the single most overpowered Double Weapon ever published. Frenzied Berskerer is just icing on the cake, since in PnP they get +4 damage for every -1 penalty they take when Power Attacking with a two-handed weapon. This results in an obscene amount of damage per attack, especially when Raging and Frenzied.
