when I run the ddo launcher, I cannot connect during the update process which is required to get into the game, it just sits and keeps retrying every 60 seconds. I know I have internet connectivity as i am writing this post with the same computer and on my other computer (windows XP) the game works just fine.
EDIT: found problem internet explorer was in offline mode so even though firefox was still working all the other internet apps go off of EE

Have you tried disabling the windows firewall and see if that helps?

yes, have done all the firewall tips in the stickies, as well as completely disabling, also, have tuned off UAC and so forth, at work right now, will try again when i get home. funny thing is that i was playing just fine on that computer about 8 hours before i was unable to connect. maybe today's downtime fixed it.
