    8rgr/6brd/2rog

    (again just a thought)
    12/14/12/12/14/14 (I have access to 32pt)

either rapier or kopesh dual wielding of course.

focusing on dps, dps, dps, self buffing
not sure what ac to start

that's why I'm putting it out there for u all to see...

You first say you want a CC bard, you secondly say you want self healing and DPS. If you want DPS, see below.

I would take the 8 Brd/6 Rgr/2 Rog route if you want a build like this.

    Human with khopeshes.

    Starting Stats:
    16 STR (10 pts)
15 DEX (8 pts) (Eat a +2 DEX tome before taking GTWF)
    14 CON (6 pts)
    8 INT (0 pts)
    8 WIS (0 pts)
    15 CHA (8 pts)

You don't need INT. My WFchanter has a base 8 INT and does fine on Skills.

Take the bard level first to maximize your perform, taking the rogue levels early as well.

    Feats:
    1) Dodge. Mobility
    3) WP: Khopesh
    6) WF: Khopesh
    9) IC: Slash
    12) Spring Attack
    15) GTWF
    18) Power Attack

If instead you want to dual-wield rapiers:
    Elf
    14 STR (6 pts)
    18 DEX (10 pts)
    14 CON (10 pts)
    8 INT
    8 WIS
    14 CHA (6 pts)

Feats: Same as above, just replace IC: Slash with IC: Pierce, and WP: Khopesh with weapon finesse.

    Take Warchanter and Tempest.

Self healing comes from the ability to UMD heal scrolls. Take a few tiers of wand and scroll mastery and you'll be hitting 140+ with each of them, combined with possible Human improved recovery, makes it a potent source of healing.

The rogue levels do not grant much benefit, as it would be a major investment to go for traps as well, and the benefit of evasion is much negated by self healing and fireshield scrolls (Fire resistance +Fireshield negates a good portion of the damage). If you want to splash, take fighter so that you can take more, better feats, such as Toughness, Force of Personality, and Skill Focus: UMD.

For enhc, max out bard inspire courage: damage, take two tiers of attack, Warchanter, Tempest, a few tiers in Wand and Scroll Mastery, and human improved Recovery, one or both of the Human Adaptabilities, and if you stay rogue, rogue haste boost. Human versatility can help out with your UMD too.

    what race ?

    dwarf ?
    16 , 16 , 14 , 8 , 8 , 13
feats: dodge , mobility , spring attack , otwf , toughness , extend , power attack , weapon focus slashing , gtwf

u get dwarven axe for free so no need to take khopesh and u could throw in improved crit slash in there till u make some min II's in place of otwf till u do but this is going
    14bard/6ranger/2rogue

    if u went
14ranger/6bard/2rogue u wouldnt have to take gtwf which would free up a feat but your songs wouldnt be the greatest and wouldnt last that long but still better then nothing

u should take rogue first level if u want max skills at first level , if he's saying this cuz u cant put ne points into perform at first level u can make it up later down the road

    It shouldn't matter either way.

For Dwarves, replace WP: khopesh with Power Attack.

    Starting Stats:
    16 STR (10 pts)
    15 DEX (8 pts)
    14 CON (4 pts)
    8 INT
    8 WIS
    14 CHA (10 pts)

    Take the D-Axe enhc.

The dwarf is probably the better choice, as the DPS discrepancy between khopesh and D-Axes is made up for by Power Attack, the other feats help a lot.

Ok but wouldn't I need any points in Wis to be able to have access to the ranger spells like ram's and barks,

and even tho humans have the advantage over most races w/ the extra feat selection. (and this is just a personal thing) I'm not too keen on playing them...just a pref...I just can't bring myself to play a human past 4 for some reason....

and yes I did mention cc...kinda stepped off to early..
I actually wanted to be more of the dps type...I like kopeshes for the crit range and the damage output, and d/axes are just as deadly w/ damage output...I like rapiers too..

I was thinking of the dorf twf bard a while back but was thinking of the advantage I would have being able to cast bard buffs and self bark as well..

I saw one who was 8brd/8rgr...and thought to myself "with 2lvls of rog and evasion that's be a pretty **** good build" ...

I get the umd factor for self healing w/ scrolls....but I figure evasion would be a nice thing to rely on...

    so basically stats
14/16/14/8/10/12 or something along those lines then?

as Johnny Five would say "NEEEED INPUT"

    Learn to swim..."

I would recommed you go with 8 bard 6 ranger 2 rogue and eventually 12 bard 6 ranger 2 rogue. That way your songs are stronger. 12 bard 6 ranger 2 rogue is not too bad. You probably want to go human in order to have the extra feat. Your stats are far too balanced by the way go with 17 str, 15 dex (assumes you have access to +2 dex tome for gtwf), 15 con, 8 wis, 8 int, 11 cha.

Edit: Oh you could go with other class then human just nice for feat. Just wear a wisdom item and then you can cast the ranger spells. Good idea to wear one anyway so you have a better will save.
