He's saying that Int tomes are far more valuable than a Con tome. With the change to tomes coming with M9, those are the most valuable to be ML0 as opposed to ML7. Every other tome is retroactive. Int at L7 means you miss 6 skill points overall.

Hey, know where I can find other folk to hawk my +2 tomes that are worth about 1/4th a +2 int tome for an int tome?

Wouldn't mind stocking up before the mod.

FYI folks, not everyone is gonna roll an alt to use a +2 Intel tome before Mod 9. And not every character needs the skill points even if they were.

Everyone can use more HP's though.

Or at least my experience of getting this trade (multiple offers actually) in less than an hour would indicate.

If he traded a Con for an INT in less than an hour, it means there was a want. I traded a +2 INT to a guy I met for the first time in a group for some of the larges he had, which was a Large Bone and a Large Chain. I was happy with the deal because:
1. Because he was almost wetting himself at the thought of a +2 INT Tome for his wizard
2. Because at the time, I had 3 of them in the bank.
3. I like giving things to people that appreciate/need them.

Now I guess you could discuss whether I got underpayed, or 2 Larges of any kind is worth a +2 INT Tome, but it doesnt matter. I was more than happy with the 2 Larges.

If someone out there makes the trade, more or less than the 'current value', and the trader is happy with the trade, you should be happy for them and the tradee, as both got what they wanted. As for value, there are plenty of posts and threads on the forums denoting about the price of tomes at the moment.

All true. I just think a lot of folks in the forum have a sometimes distorted view of what the 'normal' players want. A lot of people would much rather pull a +2 Con tome over a +2 Intel tome.

I understand that some people are trying to play the metagame (for lack of a better word) in advance of the Mod 9 changes to tomes. But they are a tiny group, especially at this point when a lot of them have already obtained and eaten their +2 Intel tomes in anticipation of the Aug 4 release date.

Anyway...my 16 Rogue ate the +2 Intel tome. Yay to better assassinate DC and a bit more skill points through level 20.
