Technically, when using quarterstaff as a double weapon, one side should be finessable, right?

The D&D rules do in fact say that one end of a double weapon is treated as if it were light. But even if you use that interpretation to make it half-finesse, it would not be very helpful for a character to get his dex bonus on only (under) half his attacks.

Default i would like quarter staves to be finessable too...

what about having a staff made of something light so IT not the character has the ability to finess? not making all of them finessable. it worked for the medium weight rapier...

I'd just like to see more twin weapons that use the quarterstaff animation, we do have some pseudo spears from the path of inspiration pack.

Two handers are not finessable because they are heavy. One reason why they should seem to be heavy is because you hold the weopon on one end and the other end is very heavy. A staff however is held in the middle which balances that weight evenly.

Perhaps staves should be considered a medium weighted weopon like a rapier. Perhaps mithral and darkwood staves could be considered light or medium and have the heavier adamantine staves considered one grade up from that (up to medium or heavy weight).

A sunblade is a bastard sword that is considered a shortsword. This is because of the way it is weighted.

By the way...can we get an epic Subterraine?
