    Default Best computer for DDO?

You guys got any idea of which price would be a computer that is able to run DDO at his fullest without any problem?

Looking to buy a new computer, but I'm tired of always being a little behind in performance even when I explicitly asked the vendor what I wanted from this computer. So I though of asking you guys for what the best would be for a good price.

Or if you guys have some time, would be nice for other too if you could post computer config and price for:

Very High Graphic (the one I want, while being on dx10)
    High Graphic
    Normal graphic
    low graphic
    very low graphic

and all of them with very high draw object to see far away monster if possible

    Thnaks for your time guys!

It all depends on what you want to spend and what you need. For DDO you don't need more than a duel core PC. for a vid card you want an 8800GT or above. The 2XX nvidia line is nice, as is the ATI 4800 line.

All I have id a 3.0 duel core with 4 Gigs of ram and a 9800GT w/ 1 gig vid card and it runs top notch

I'd love to hear people's thoughts on this as well. What if the question was asked for each price category:

    $0-$1000 What you buy?
    $1000-$2000 What you buy?
    $2000-$3000 What you buy?
    $3000-$5000 What you buy?
    $5000-$8000 What you buy?
cost is no issue What you buy?

Ideally, you would play DDO on one of these:

Edit: For best performance, tell the captain that the *&$# nebula survey can wait, and that if he doesn't leave you alone and stop hogging the processor power you'll conjure up a button that activates the self-destruct.

Went from a AMD Athlon to

    Evga 780i motherboard
    Evga Nvidia 265 GTX
    E8500 Processor
    Mushkin ram 2gigs

I reused my harddrives, soundcard, case, psu, ect.

so, I spent about 600 give or take and I went from 25fps to tops out around 400fps(100 average)

Your computer maxes out the res by your monitor. So that 1080 res monitor is the most res you can get. So buying a 1600 max res card is a waste on a 1080 monitor

I agree on the Nvidia 2xx line.

Myself I'm running an AMD Phenom 9650 Quad Core 2.3 Ghz
    8 Gigs of DDR3 ram
Nvidia 250GTS w/ 1 Gig of DDR3 ram (I did have to upgrade the power supply due to power consumption)
on Windows Vista Home Premium (64-Bit)

Since I like to start with a fairly base model PC and build it up all told this system ran me about $700 but that's in part because I picked up the tower with innards at Circuit City the weekend before they went belly up and shut the doors. But you can probably do something similar if not slightly better for about $900-$1000

    You can't tell me there is no difference in a 7200gs & a 295GTX2

I stand by the 4870 as the best bang for the buck on that system
I'm only saying it's more than you need. Can save a few bucks by going a step or two lower, or spend the same by going a step lower and going with a maker that doesn't overheat as fast on top tier games

What good does it have having a card that can handle 2560x1600 and having a monitor that can only do 1080p or lower. Now, I know most cards can handle that high of a resolution, but most see no benefit from having that ability except maybe a little headroom. Some ultra high end monitors like Apple's 30” Cinema Display, dells 3007WFP, and some other 30 inch monitors can even handle that resolution.

Part of it is better FPS. My card gets 50 to 80 FPS on 1080 with everything else maxed out. (9800GT w/ 1 gig ram) If I had a 260 I'd get about 100 to 130 FPS, so there is some advantage to the higher end card even if you can't put it to it's full capacity.
