Default The (un)official Tharashk Reunion Thread

Before we were joined with the group hugging Thelanis and the super uber and insane Xoriats, there was us, Tharashk. The small but well rounded group of individuals who seem to get along with anybody.

Well, if we didn't, we'd be soloing alot!

So, where are you now, former Tharashkians? How about the guilds you were in? Any great stories from way back?

For starters my Guild, Merc's Only, was started on Tharashk when my hubby, his best friend (and our DM), and I got sick of the hounding and the blind guild invites in those early days. Our DM was the leader, and he was so angry that Mercs was already taken, he quickly typed in "Merc's Only" not thinking of the punctuation.

We get alot of questions on who Merc was and what's an only. Also, Everyone wondered if we were an offshoot of MERCS, who we got along with well.

Then again, this guy spent hours building the perfect cleric, every detail was mapped out, but forgot to change appearance and more importantly, the sex. Lanarissa is a red headed guy with a really bad sunburn.

While the player is gone, he gave my hubby his account, and Lanarissa lives on to this day, the only remaining orginal toon of Merc's Only.

I remember my first raid VoN, with Eriik and the missus. And how I beat her in the roll for the Silver Concord Ring, which I still have (not wearing it, but I could not bear to sell it!)

I remember hanging with Amen and Bane guilds alot.

Back on Tharashk, I used to lead a small guild called Ophele. It was a nice group of very casual but nice people. However, the guild fell apart soon after server merge as most active players and I did not have the strength (or the desire) to really put one back together.

I have very found memories of those days. Probably some of my best DDO memories which can only be competed by an handful of IFV raids from last summer.

I remember being introduced to raids by Maelstrom and Tiger, Vua being forced to lead a dragon raid against his will (honestly, sorry bro) , how much trouble Ophele had to organize said dragon raid, the loot weekends spent playing with Sanctuary and Bane members and many, many other things.

I remember Dragonsies, how could I forget him?

I started on Tharashk when the game launched. I wasn't going to join a guild, but eventually ran with Amen for a while. I remember being intorduced to loot running by Corwyn; hitting the "chicken chest" in Caverns of Korromar. I also fondly recall Fel Wysper's acerbic and witty comments on the forums. Running with the Brazillains was fun.

I left for Ghallanda in the Fall of 2006. While I never stopped playing my main toon on Tharashk, I stopped running with anyone but my static group and with my kids (6 toon limit per server hurt). However, now with more slots, I have enjoyed playing on (what is now Thelanis) again. It is tough splitting time between two servers, but interesting as well. Sometimes I'll see Tharashkians I remember from way back: Raidan and Allanon, but mostly everyone is new to me.
    Almost nearly always: Ghallanda
Most likely: Heisenberg, Landau, Boltzmann, Sommerfeld, Rutherford, Bohr, Tezla, and Dirac.
But also: Vigner, Minkowski, Schrodinger, Fermi, Hartree, Sternn, Gerlach, and others.

Oh my, what an old name!

PS: I remember running with Landau in The Pit when playing my first character ever. A paladin by the name of Alhandrah

Having never played an MMO, the concept of loot running was new to me. In an afternoon, I accumulated more loot than I had in the month or so I had been playing the game to that point. And I liked it. I realized my life had changed.

I only ever had one Landau, but he was a re-roll of my main once Drow was released and human was no longer a good choice for wizards.

i remember Dragonsies lol, he didnt listen, but i dont believe there was anything he couldnt charm. Jasoul was lvl 9- we were running greymoon/co6 when i met Dragonsies, i kept telling him 'dude, you have got to stop charming those ogres, when they break- they come straight for you and i dont have the sp or wands to heal you and the rest of the group, next thing you charm and it breaks, your on your own, less than a minute later i see in party chat "Jasoul can you raise me again?"

Ah, yes, Dragonesis and his charm. For all his faults, the boy could probably charm Harry...

    Or at least try...

Ironic, the player who was the most painful to play with is the one we have the most memories about?

And, yes, I raise him alot too. poor kid. I miss him!

For some reason, I can't bring myself to think he was charming.

    Default missing?

Attacks the Darkness (brianberu, cuinhell, roundeyes...boramir), they use to drag Emmaline into all kinds of trouble. Emmaline belonged to Bane way back when (Brinkley was born in Bane) but left to form guild with her family. TS runs led by the queen was always a blast. I sure do miss Tharashk! We did get along!
Zadorie, Emmaline, Kestrelia, Brinkley, and many others. I can't believe I'm going to have to be a lizard for three lives... sheesh.

Well some of those AtD'rs are still around. Just on break or playing very limited hours till the new Mod goes Live. (can you blame em) Boramir for sure is still alive and kicking. Brian is here and there, but like most, just chillin till something more to do.

I really need to visit the Thelanis section of these forums more often.

*waves* Hi all. Of course...considering my integration into the RP community...can I really be considered a Tharashkian?

OMG... that reminds me of the first time I met Anao.

He asked to join one of my shroud runs a long time ago. He sent me a pvt tell explaining that he didn't speak english so well and only had limited knowledge of the raid, etc., asked if it was okay to join.

One of the best decisions to accept a person on a raid I ever made.

Hi all, I am a returning player who came back to find my server was *gone*

When i logged in all my toons had some stupid misspellings in their names

I ran with a guild but to be honest I don't remember the name. From what i've gathered it merged with Amen, which is the guild i'm currently in on Thelanis

    Hey Doctor,

I was a tharashkian back in the day, started off with Art of war Soldiers (founders guild) then got recruited into Bane where I am really enjoying my time in DDO. I have run with you a few times and had a great time. Ah, the old Tharashk days, what fun.

    thanks for the memories.
