    Default (Soon to be) Kensai Questions

    Ok, so assuming the Mod 9/ Unlimted stuff actually goes live someday, I'm planning on making a Kensai (or Kensei, whatever)
    Anyway been levelling up a Fighter, and honestly it's been alot more fun than I would have thought.
    However, may have made a few mistakes..

    1)Started with 12 Con, now I've dropped a +2 Tome, and have a +6 item, but I'm sitting at (about) 325 Hp's at 13.
    Have not goten the drconic vitality yet, but that includes the toughness feat, a GFL item and numerous toughness enhancements that I'm not sure I'll be able to afford after paying the AP's for Kensai.

    Anyone know if this is going to leave me with too few hitpoints to be effective in later quests? Don't really want to reroll, and (to my thinking) starting 14 con would only be another 20 hps's at cap, but 325 seems kinda low at 13.


    2) What's up with Stunning blow? Thought everyone said it was great, I've got a 32 Str, and I can't reliably get the thing to land on trash mobs. Am I just having bad luck or is it more of a Warforge/Dwarf thing with racial enhancements.

    3) Any suggestions for a GS item for a fighter? I know I should concentrate on building a fighter, but I have GS goggles crafted from another toon, and absolutely no idea what to put in my goggle slot, was thinking a guard item, but I'v never crafted GS (just collected a bunch of items) and I'm not sure if there's a better option.

    Anywya thanks (as always) for any advice/ suggestions/entertaining flames you can provide.

    1) 12 CON is ok just make sure you take tuffness as a feat, get your GH rep, have a GFL, and either minos or a shroud HP item. And of course a +6 con item and a tome. This will put you over 400 hp at 16 which 400+ is a good place to be. Under 400 not so good.

    2) Make a mineral II weapon for it. And start collecting all your weapons in 1 type (well as many as possble) as kenasi bouneses are mainly for 1 specific weapon.

    3) Kenasi has had the enhancement costs reduced by 8 so you will have enough for the 2 tiers of tuffness enhancements

    4) Goggles give your fighter a nice neg/neg/neg immunity item or a hp/hp/hp item or a neg/hp/neg item and a gfl of poision somewhere else. The down side to that last one is it makes you dependant on GH to be immune to fear but also gives you a free +6 wisdom which while not a main fighter stat +3 to a save for free is +3 to a save for free :P

    The difference between 12 con and 18 con is what? 3hp per level or 60hp at lvl 20? I don't think 60hp will make a noticable differene on way or the other. And if you achieve a decent AC it is even less of an issue.

    As long as you hit 450-500 by cap you'll be fine.

    Rolling my fighter as well... took some advice and got stunning blow... the feat sucks.... i traded it for sap and im never going back. If you want auto crits fit an earthgaurd into your build. And your HP are just fine

    like you said, difference between 12 and 14 con in terms of hp will be 20 hp which can be easily made up by gear. have you gotten toughness enhancements, what about minos? what about gfl item, +6 con? also you can craft a GS +45 hp item. that said more hp is always good lol

    you need to do 2 things to get a stunned mobs, 1st you need to hit it. if you are trying early in your attack sequence, you might have a low to hit thus missing the attempt. now assuming you hit, you need the mob to fail the roll. try it on a caster, its awesome. make use of weaknesses. hitting stun on a hit fort mob will likely mean you fail the attempt more. also use a weighted 5% item for higher DC

    goggles is the last place you want a greensteel. try cloak, glove, boots. you want goggles for tharnes (at least for mod 8)

    Well if he has minos for helm thats gone. Belt neck and ring are the new mod 9 items so none of them will work.

    Boots are the needed for the raid so thats out.

    That only leaves cloak, gloves or goggles.

    a stunned mob dun fight back when you hit it, if you use weighted weapons your DC can increase by 10

    assuming he doesn't need the clock of ice being evasionless or a +5 protect or +5 resist cloak or feather falling cloak etc etc. So many of the things we like to have come on cloaks its nice to have as a non fixed item that you would not have to refarm shroud to move someplace.

    PS> Since kensai III with capstone will almost always have aggro...how well will backstabbing really help?

    if you have 3 kensai in the party, 2 will always not have agro

    thats why i made my cha skill item as goggles. if i'm tanking i dun need tharnes, if i'm not tanking, i get more dps

    Actually using spectral gloves in that slot, are they worth replacing with GS? Guessing I don't need GT for much, but I did like the +2 competence bonus to hit.
    Cloak switches between +5 prot and resist, but really my ac isn't high enough to matter, and I have a pair of Boots of the Innocent somewhere, so guess I could use the cloak spot.

    Oh and embarrassingly stupid GS question, I know you can't have 2 items without cleansing, but is that 2 weapons,

    ie: Do i have to do 20 runs before I can dual wield GS swords?

    I know I should know this, just I kept doing the runs on my sorc and cleric, and never bothered to craft for some reason..

    Weapons don't count

    There are more than 1 +2 competance to hit items and will be even more soon. Don't worry about the spectral gloves
