    Default Low lvl monk help

Hey guys, im a total noob. Been playing less than 2 weeks. I have a lvl 4 monk and i am having a hard time generating Ki. No matter which stance i am in, even fire i cannot generate enough Ki to ever use anything. Is this just because i am a low lvl or is there something that i am missing?

Did you max your concentration? Did you skimp on CON? If your concentration score is max (roughly 9-11 at this point) you just need to wait a little bit. Ki is a tough thing to generate even for higher level monks if your party is so overpowered that you get just a few hits in before a baddie dies.
Your minimum ki needs to be 10 to fire off a finisher...anything less and you'll always be a little short and it'll drop below the necessary amount while running to the next guy.

The Ki system definitely isn't very usable at low levels. I generally just used Fists of Light and fired of Healing Ki when ready. You can get a Devotion/Potency item to make Healing Ki heal for more, which is kinda nice.

it's very hard to generate ki at low levels, especially if you're in a group, because the mobs just tend to die so quickly.

Consider taking fire stance just for a few levels and using that at low levels combined with a holy qstaff - because handwraps really only start to excel when the number of strikes increases due to having multiple two-weapon fighting (twf) feats, you'll find that qstaff tends to be best at low levels. Once you pick up improved twf then change back to wraps.

Given equivalent Handwraps and Quarterstaves, Handwraps are always better. Even at low levels.
