sorry this is a repost, but now one ever answered on the other forum
so i cant upgrade, ii cant subscribe or anything, well my trial was going to end the day after the unlimited launched on the 4th of this month, and now it is moved to sep 9th! i really want to keep playing, what should i do?this really sucks, why cant they just make between the 4th and the 9th of sep open beta or something? i mean i am going to subscribe from the get go, hell i tried subscribing after my first day. though it wouldn't let me.

I gotta admit, Turbine really messed this one up. Basically, until EU is launched, no one can buy the game (unless they can find it in the store), upgrade an account, and pay to play.

I am LMFAO at Turbine on this one.

OP: I am really sorry about this, the only think I can think of is to try to buy it form Direct2Drive, you will get a key in the email, and should be able to create a standard account that way.

so let me get this straight. I did the same thing the OP did and created a trial account (free) that was supposed to end on Aug 5th. The plan was that when the trial ended, the game would be FTP. So, I hear that the game got delayed until Sept 9th. I was thinking that I would buy a VIP subscription for a month to get me to the new release date. Now I hear that I cant get access to the game from Aug 5th until Sept 9th because they are not allowing new VIP accounts? Tell me this isnt true or there is a way around it.

It took me less than two minutes to find out where to by the game for as low as $4. Are you all really that incompetent that you can't manage to use a browser?

Also, aren't free accounts that do not originate from a retail account key going to be severely restricted in order to keep the gold sellers from spamming the hell out of the rest of us? I'd suggest saving your pennies and spending the $4 plus shipping.

The world cannot always provide instant gratification, despite the whining of the children, and I will bet that the $4 price is cheaper than the download.

As to digital distribution, I don't pay any attention to it as I prefer to own the disks for games I play, so I was indeed utterly unaware of this. Blissfully so, even.

You are correct in the fact that $4 is cheaper than the digital download, but many people, myself included would rater pay $10-$15 and have it now, rather than $4 and have it in 5 days. Especially if it is a game that I want to be playing now.

Then add to the fact that if you did install the game from the disks, it would take much longer to update to the current version than the digital download.

As to the five days wait, if I didn't already have a copy of the game from years ago, I do have my wife, lotro, and nwn2 to keep me busy. Diversification is the key, I think, when faced with the unimaginable hardship of having to wait 5 days to play a game.
