It is like going to a museum and bragging about how fast you made it through. Or bragging about how fast you finished a good steak.

    +4str, +1pa = +3damage
    +6str, +2pa = +5damage.

You're only breaking even during a 'medium' rage, getting back the +2 damage you lost from dropping fighter, and you never make up the additional damage on crits.

Vicious property from frenzy at 6barb is 2D6, or 7dmg average/hit and 12/6/2barb is only +3 damage during a tiny rage. You could go 12fig/6ranger/2rogue and get a 6.5 average from passive sneak attacks and a one point passive sneak attack enhancement(D6+3), when striking vulnerable enemies, along with extra skill points and evasion.

I think you're just working way too hard to get barbarian in this build, and not considering why.

Barbarian is more consistent damage overall, and can benefit from Tharne's Goggles just as well as someone with a Rogue splash.

Tanka (Elf Tempest Trapper) .:. Darani (Aasimar Inquisileric) .:. Raelyth (Elf Artifonk)

12/6/2 AKA a monster build is clearly ahead... and among the top dps melee builds.

There are advantages to the 7/7/6, but dps is not one of them. and i think a 8barb/6f/6r might play better with longer rages.

EDIT: should clarify as not to be misinterpreted...

With everything going (rage, surge, hasteboost) the 12/6/2 is ahead in dps....
Without hasteboost the 7/7/6 is ahead...
Without frenzy the 12/6/2 is ahead by quite a bit...

I say the 12/6/2 is clearly ahead because, with haste boost does more dps,(and has more haste boosts to use), and does not inflict self damage with vicious.

actually he didnt really gain anything. to be more exact it should be:

    12/6/2
    +4str rage
    +8str power surge
    +6dmg weapon spec
    +1dmg power att
    +30% haste boost

    vs

    7/6/7
    +6str rage
    +2d6dmg frenzy
    +3dmg weapon spec
    +2dmg power att
    +25% haste boost

this is just the damage based comparison, we can still compare the attack bonus as well as hp bonus in order to find out which is really more suited to his playstyle
If you want to know why...

First, saying 12/6/2 is a Monster is like saying every Ftr/Pal/Rog is a Batman - wrong and incredibly misleading...

Second, the Monster is pretty far down the DPS list now...
