25 Min Elite Shroud - Sarlona

Well we kept hitting walls of lag that would would send people to 2000ms, so for this run we went with no Greensteels, just the best Transmuter, holy-good/silver people had for parts 2 - 5. We even tried a crazy portal pattern in part one at one point that nearly broke the shroud

Part 2 Mobs were Devil, Earth, Kobold, troll

Part 4 was like a 1.4 rounder.

Tinosa has the shots with Elite in it, Im such a noob. Ty all for being such an awesome team And thank you to those that couldn't make it tonight but were on some of out other runs : Fqad, Thelmelan, Bagel, and Agamon ( i hope Im not missing anyone)

Lots better then my last but then we had no greensteel or transmuters surprisingly and it took 84 minutes but at least we got it done

Thanks for moops for organising this. It was two rounds (well really only one and a half rounds) in part 4. Lag was definitely less without everyone using GS in part 5.

nice job fellas, yah norg i think a really early morning run woudl be best i know usally when i am on when its ~5am est there are not many ppl on and lag is usally not bad

you're still going to get DPS lag even when the server is empty. Only way (currently) to beat that is to reduce the number of effects on your weapons - everyone has to use transmuting of greater harry bane.

Unfortunately when it comes to speed runs, Sarlona has some Different issues than most other servers--we have players from other countries Day and Night who use Proxy servers to Play DDO--and the Chinese wave starts to roll in at our guild prime time ( 8 Pm Pacific) and goes through til late morning. And then of course almost all of us work during the day. But I love having players at all hours of the day

We might be able to get to 24, but I get so frustrated with the lag that it makes me want to quit the game. You should've seen this portal pattern we came up with for part one--with no lag we could've easily gotten done in 3.5 mins--but it lagged us so bad that our connections turned orange, people jumped to 2000ms to 8000ms and we couldnt move for over a minute and had to recall. We tested it several times.

Going at different times definitely makes a difference on Khyber. Shroud speeds are more laggy from 8:30 - 12:00 est. We tend to do our record runs at 12:30ish est which is definitely less laggy then during that prime time. My guess though is we would gain a little by doing a record attempt at 5 a.m. est which is a real deadtime. We have a fair number of Aussies on Khyber, but they do not get on until a little later then that.

Worse is an understatement. Nobody could really move for a min or three. There would be a second where 50-60 swings worth of numbers would pop at once, then nothing. when it cought up we were all dead, some even disconected. It happened the same time everytime. We could duplicate it to a T. We tried several things to modify it, but finally went to a two portal pattern we had slightly modified from our original (babas mods i think).

The other big thing was we didnt use any greensteels after pt one (except me and my cha stick ) I think that helped reduce the lag a lot. We tried a normal run with only greensteel and it was much different. So creap back in time to reduce lag, untwink the twinked, abandon teh uberz, if you want less dps lag. Of course less dps lag means less dps, but im sure you have figured out by now, there is a cap to the amount of dps needed to make the run faster, and once past that cap it just slows you down. Several times now we have been on pace for a 13 min normal run when zoning into pt 5. All for not once we hit a wall of lag once Red hits half health or so 45 seconds to get him to half, then 3 min to get him dead lol.
