    Default Nullification based cleric ...

    I've capped my Necromancer Sorcerer, so I thought I would try the same type of thing with a caster-only cleric (robes, no armour) as a personal challenge because I came across a super cheap Witch's staff.

    Anyone run to 16 like this? It looks like with a human build I can get 32 Wis pretty easy and my Drow sorcerer has 34, so I'd only be 1 shy on the DC of my insta-kill spells.

    Necro/Null spec works fine.

    Max your WIS. Seconday stat would be CON. Maybe some CHR.
    18 WIS/16 CON/Rest CHR is a good human base for this.

    Harm, Slay Living, Destruction, Curse; they all work very nice end game.

    Well....
    I have one, and she's kinda fun....but...

    You run out of SP way too fast.

    Maybe a Favored Soul would do better when they become available.

    Inflict Wound spells damage most living creatures, including rednamed. There is little defense against them. They can be max/empowered (not Harm though).

    But rednamed guys have so many HP, that you usually can't kill one this way.
    And you will run out of SP sooooo fast. Esp when using Max/Empower.
    Clerics are not Sorcs.

    But I do have fun with mine.
    Although most peope don't respect that a cleric that blows all her mana on things other than healing.

    I've had the best luck using her to cast Sound Burst and Greater Command.
    Symbols are good too, but too long a cool down.

    Harm is definately fun for creatures without 1000+hp.
    I gave up a life of farming to become an Adventurer.

    My favorite CLeric is my Necro Cleric. I don't use the inflict lines though, I just stick with zapping, cursing and Harm ( usually 400 - 800 pts of Damage on Harry). I don't carry Maximize on this cleric, but do carry Empower Healing so that when I fight Sorjek/Sub Skelly/ GOP boss I get 400- 1100 pts of damage from Heal spell.

    The cool thing about being necro is that everything you do pump your necro crits, also pumps your healing So when I quest I have alot of fun zapping, but I am still set up great to heal in raids. My heals crit alot, its not something that I count on, but its nice.

    how you get a ''usual'' 400-800 against harry?
    usual doesnt mean: no crit
    and as harm isnt affected by any dmgboosting metafeat, the max is like 275 with evrything

    @lecutter: his description kinda fits what Vistella is, so you might loko her up too

    Default or you could

    Wait for Favoured Soul in September and turn the great Halfling Dragonmark Cleric into a Halfling Dragonmarked Favoured Soul with all offensive spells. You would get a lot more spell points to blast play with, and Dragonmarks to heal with. You would never be a main healer, but you can still scroll heals/restore/raise dead etc.

    i still think cleric is better than fs for offensive casting. for one, clerics go into an instance with more spells of each level loaded. with their drawback being spell points, the easy solution is sp management. if you are blowing through spellpoints too fast, you need to think about the decisions you are making. more spell points arent really going to solve the problem. its kind of like if you are taking too much damage, more hp is not the solution.

    i also dont like having to have 19 cha. no matter how u get there, u are taking a little bit away from something. if i were to have spent points on cha, my con would be lower. spending action points is completely out of the question. when i capped at 16, i still had 2 enhancements staring me in the face that i couldnt afford (energy of the zelot 4 and wand/scroll mastery 4 at 4 points each.) i also dont have an item slot im willing to give up for a cha item.

    heres an abbridged rundown of my build (pre-mod)
    Beasler, Human Cleric 16
    started w/ 18 con and 18 wis, all the rest are dump stats
    @16 wis = 36 (22 base, 6 enh, 3 exc, 1 inh, 4 feat) still a fairly new toon, need that +3 wis tome
    con = 26 (18 base, 6 enh, 1 inh, 1 feat) looking for a +3 con manual too
    feats: empower healing, extend, heighten, maximize, empower, sp pen, gr sp pen
    my gear is fairly straight forward. conc item, 2 greensteel worn items, exc wis item (w +6 con on t1) which is also a ss clickie, lorriks set (hot swap), napkin, blue scale, gloves + bracers of glacier, etc. im still working out a few kinks, but im close to my perfect scheme, and a little more raiding will get me there.
    my enhancements are spent the way u would expect an OCC to spend them. spell pen 3, life magic 4, w/s mastery 3, EotZ 3, imp emp heal 1, human adaptability (wis and con) etc.
