    Default Favored Enemy

    As per 3.5 handbook:

At 1st level, a ranger may select a type of creature as a favored enemy. Due to his extensive study of his foes and training in the proper techniques for combating them, the ranger gains a +1 bonus to Bluff, Listen, Sense Motive, Spot and wilderness Lore checks when using these skills against this type of creature. Likewise he gets the same bonus to damage rolls......................

I don't know anyone who uses bluff or listen. +1 spot isn't that big of a deal, not worth the coding time IMHO. And DDO gives a base +2 damage for favored enemy; this definitely makes up for the skills.

Favored enemy doesn't need to be changed in any way.

If you want to use that line of reasoning, I will agree at the condition we also implement the second paragraphs:

We definitely needed favored enemies coded that way from the start....

But instead of fixing favored enemies, they just gave everyone else huge bonuses as well, so it's too late to fix it now...

It is like going to a museum and bragging about how fast you made it through. Or bragging about how fast you finished a good steak.

For that to be true, one would have to assume we have reached a DPS roof and you'd have to demonstrate its existence.

Bluff is a requirement on assassin rogues. It makes your enemies turn away from you and lose aggro for a few secs during which time you get free sneak attacks and can possible outright kill 1 or 2. Not a widely used skill but it has its uses.

Listen is used to detect sounds make by hidden enemies, again very few ppl put points into it but you actually dont need a lot to be successful as mobs never move silently, they just run while invisble..... just a few points and u will hear them.

Its not just +1, its cumulative over the course of levels and is the same exact bonus u get from favored enemies damage portion, coded the same way it works now........ it just wasnt included.
