    No you didn't.

A monk need not wear handwraps to attack unarmed.

Nor does any other class in the game, monks just get higher base damage dice.

Maybe the monk rings will have something like holy and good burst as the lvl 1/2 effects and you can put whatever 3rd level you want on.

That would help even up the field if they only applied to handwrap damage.
Althought the 1 level of monk splash builds might like to swap to holy handwraps +monk ring for beating on Sorjek...

That's cool.

All I can say is that I am looking forward to UPDATE 1 already! I hope they make a RAID there that's truly befuddles us for a few months. I want to hear whining upon whining that the new RAID is impossible. As much as the Abbot stunk because of the broken asteroid room, I gotta admit, those challenges in there are what made beating that thing such a good time!

As for manna pots, I have to admit I like A_D's suggestion. Put them on a cooldown timer. Make them toxic. If you drink too many, your CON goes down or something. They are concentrated ... right? I know it will hurt sales on those things, which are going to get bought like hotcakes while folks figure out the RAID, but that was the greatest concern with the STORE, that it would make the game too easy. Here is a case in point. Granted, these guys got skillz and I am sure they would have gotten it anywho. It would have been just a bit more painful for them to do it without the storeI think and it might have taken a bit longer to get done, but I have no doubt they would have been among the pioneers in there.

Mykke and gang... honest answer ... what do you think after having used Store Bought Pots to get you through the tactical development stage of the RAID, did they take some of the challenge of that stage away? From a gameplay perspective, should the pots be adjusted (with timers or something) to keep the challenge level there?

    Dex was here.
I don't know but I have a good stack of mana potions and most of my friends as well. I did have store bought mana pots as well but if I look at the whole usage of them I can say I didn't use any store ones.

Other then that if you don't use a good tactic I can see how mana pots won't help you at all in some of the parts of the quest. If you don't have enough power and a good idea of whats coming next no mana pots are gonna help you Howevere I do think using charachters that are outdated and missing alot of gear made it more chalenging. I think on live servers might be a bit easyer? Howevere people will stil need to level to 20 etc to reach the full potential of their charachters so that might take longer.

Three parts, and part 2 is probably the hardest, it can go sour real quick if not handled right.

I am sure you guys will do fine on hard. I also anticipate yourself and many others will roll through those quests when they hit the live servers. I doubt hard will be that much more difficult then normal as that is not the usual Turbine pattern, but elite if you guys get the opportunity to try it out hopefully will be very very difficult on the preview server.

Also, the best tier3 blast is good blast (3d6 or 4d6 in the burst section) which cannot happen on any dual shard item, and is universally applicable, so if its possible to get the blast effects on rings to work with weapons, they are absolutely a no-brainer because they are actually way better dps than acid or shocking blast could possibly be.

yeah cause there are so many tanks out there with conc opp dual shard dps weapons :P

I admit I left that out but the point stands; a good blast ring + min/lit/rad2 with +2 stat or insight would be substantially better dps than an insight 4/stat 2 ring with a blasting weapon .. to say nothing of it applying to your non-greensteel, etc.

I'm glad at least monks get it: good blast + weighted 5%/mal+bb handwraps will produce tremendous increases in monk dps.

never said it would be common, but your statement that its impossible was plain wrong

I would not be willing to bet a lot on blasts affecting weapons.

If any of you remember Ask the Devs #8, we were supposed to get craftable rings that affect only unarmed.

My guess is that the Blast recipes are the ones that will do that. If you think about it, it makes a lot of sense. Handwraps are nothing more than accessories worn in the weapon slot. Enhancing weapons has been, historically, harder to achieve than enhancing the player so they could have decided that it was an happy coincidence for blasts to improve the DPS of the weakest DPS class and left it that way.

You know, I was thinking about the raid loot and a thought occurred to me.....

If people think they've seen arguments with raid loot before, just wait til this mod.

I mean, guild groups and stuff it won't be a big issue, but I'm mainly thinking pugs here.

Let's look at the ring that dropped. It's a tempest ring, it has 6 dex on it, +1 exceptional wisdom, and the ability to craft something else on it. Anyone with a +6 dex ring is going to want it, and will roll for it.

If the other rings follow the same pattern as this ring, then all +6 stat rings are pretty much dead, and everyone will be looking to upgrade their stat rings, whether or not they have the PrE that's on the ring.

I have a feeling we're going to be seeing a lot of posts like "the barbarian rolled on the tempest ring!" or "the wizard rolled on the frenzied bezerker ring!"....
