hmmmm, I think next shroud... I will demand all twf melee fight with one hand tied behind their back, all thf to use a dagger and the only spells allowed be grease and that bushy thing I never load up on my rangers... as for any ele in parts 2 and 5, entire party must /roll 1d12... low roll takes the elemental to a movie and high roll buys me dinner.
Oh, and Hordo is assigned to pike.

I have good xp to play as a soc in Shroud, and I think :
- a soc with cold shield, CoC & polay ray, and be able to land heal scroll reliably (that i expect any good soc could do them all) could solo the fire elemental.
- using fire protection is a waste of mana. for sure it will work, but u don't know how long it takes for the other 3, and whether or not you will have to start everything over. so it's just unwise to spend the mana in this way.
- with cold shield, haste, and just circle the ele and/or use a wall to block the fb is good enough.
- however, if an evasion type is available, it's better to let the evasion to do the job, and let the soc to do the final shoot. A soc spec'd in fire/cold simply will take it down and draw aggro too fast. Heal scroll costs $.
assigning a rog for fire ele will not fully utilize its own DPS potential, but it could be the best for the whole team. do you need to be a hero?

If you want to know why...
I don't usually have trouble with shroud runs in part 2, but for some reason, I am seeing a plethora of runs that need a second or even third (!) try at killing all four mobs before the crystal is down. It seems a lot of people aren't listening, or several leaders aren't leading very well. I had one run where all the mobs were down and one of the quicker ones had ressurrected himself before we figured out there was no one on the crystal...
Thanks for the input on rogues however. I have never lead a Shroud run before that didn't fall apart due to lack of joining, but it's nice to know a little better what can take what.
