    Default 2 Crippling Issues

    #1. I can't log into Sarlona, because of the "cleaning up old connection" nonsense.

    #2. MOST IMPORTANT: I can't play the game because of my sheer amount of packet loss. I just recently upgraded my hard drive, motherboard, router, and power supply due to a lightning strike frying them. We previously were wired in regards to the internet, but have now chosen to go wireless, as the cords grew irritating. When using the internet, I have no issues whatsoever. However, in game, my packet loss is anywhere from 17-30%. The game is unplayable.

    I checked for packet loss on the Technical Support page by Run->cmd->ping ddo.com etc, and my packet loss is 0%, so this is purely a in-game issue.

    What can I do?

    Heres what I've tried so far:
    Brought Windows up to SP2
    My drivers are up to date
    Firewall has been checked as to not interfere.

    OK, so heres an update. I played all last night using an unsecured network I bummed off a neighbor down the street.

    So my issue is just with my particular modem. How do I fix it, short of buying a new one?

    If you connected to another wireless network and the games connection improved you might need to configure port forwarding on your router. To set it up you need the default address of your router (usually its either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 but can vary depending on model).

    You plug that address into a browser (I.E. or Firefox) with an http added on (example with the 1.1 address used below)

    http://192.168.1.1

    You'll get a prompt for login, If you've never logged into it before to make changes it will be the default, check with your mfr for the default log in. (It's always a good security precaution to change the password for the default login of the router though) Its usually something like username: admin password: admin or password sometimes the password is blank.

    There should be an option for Port Forwarding (usually its under the "Advanced" section on a routers config pages). The link above to the KB article lists the ports and protocols, I'd check with your router maker's site as they may have clearer directions specific to the options screens youll see and settings specific to your model.

    After contacting support, log into your email webpage to add noreply@turbine.com and accountsupport@turbine.com to their "safe senders" list and your contacts list/address book. Be sure to check Spam/Junk Mail folders as well since most email providers do not let external email programs or cell phones download mail flagged this way.

    Ok it may also help to set a static address into your wireless adapter some wireless is flaky unless it has a direct route already input.
    go to start then run and type in cmd and press Enter/Return
    You will get the command prompt screen come up type
    ipconfig then press Enter/Return
    look through what is displayed for your wireless IP configuration important points to note are your current IP and your gateway.
    Since it sounds to me your on Vista since you mentioned SP2 instead of SP3 (XP) you need to right click on your wireless connection and open network and sharing center.
    In that screen on the left you will see change adapter settings left click on that and it will bring your adapters screen up.
    Right click on your wireless adapter and choose status and left click on it.
    Now you have your wireless connection status screen up click on properties and you will get the properties screen up, go to Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IP V4) and click properties for that.
    Now on the General tab for this you click on the radio tab for Use the following IP address and enter in your current IP you have with the IPconfig command you entered in first, for subnet mask defaults to 255.255.255.0 leave that and for gateway enter in the gateway configuration we found out in the same command as you found out your current IP.
    As for DNS information enter in your gateway address in there as well.
    Press OK on all the screens, (you may have to reboot after) and test your connection.

    I know how to port forward I would just like to see a single mention in the support forum of what the port ranges are and weather they are TCP or UDP!!

    Yes, please! That's important because the Port Forwarding link Mirthgar provided does not work.

    It gives this error:

    "Your organization has been disabled Salesforce.com has disabled access to the system for your company. Please contact support@salesforce.com for more information about this error."

    My company? I'm a home user.
