2 Monk/ 18 pally questions

I've been looking at 18 paladin/2 Monk builds but none seem to be able to hit DM III. I've thought about an elf with 13 16 10 10 13 16 and taking the Dex route and adding tomes where needed, but I'm thinking that seems gimped. I'd really like to stay away from Halflings and I'm not wanting to use rogue levels instead of monk. Anyone have any suggestions?

On my pally/monk I started with 14 base charisma. Added +2 tome. Am hoping for +4 tomes with lvl cap raise to get DM III. Failing that might use +3 and the lvl 20 stat increase. My guy is human. Hope that is of some help.

Drow - STR based TWF:

Abilities (Level 1)
Strength 16
Dexterity 16
Constitution 12
Intelligence 10
Wisdom 8
Charisma 16


Level ups in to STR, and +1 DEX tome for iTWF/gTWF (easy by lvl9).
If you are trying for AC as well, move 2 points from STR into WIS.

Yep, I'm in the same boat. Started with a 14 charisma. The last stat increase comes at level 20 by the way.

I will probably let my pally/monk sit at 19 and see what comes first. If I pull a lucky +4 all will be good. If I get a +3, I will put my last stat increase in charisma to unlock dm 3.


Here's how I went if you're interested:

human pally/monk 14/2

str 16

tricked out and tomed:

str 30 (16 + 4 levels + 6 item + 3 tome + 1 enh)
dex 22 (15 + 5 item (spec gloves) + 2 tome)
con 22 (13 + 6 item + 2 tome + 1 enh)
int 8
wis 20 (11 + 6 item + 2 tome + 1 enh)
cha 24 (14 + 6 item + 2 tome + 2 enh)

16 Cha +1 from level will allow for possible +3 tome. I wouldnt count on a +4 who knows how rare they will be.
