Default Help with Rest for the restless

I need help in solving the quest Rest for the restless, given by Lady Nepente in House Phiarlan. My problem is that i cannot get a gate to open. I have tried the quest three times now and always get stuck at the same spot. it is the gate after you killed the first mage and after the six valves you have to turn to open the first gate (three valves in two different rooms, with spike traps). I manage to open the first gate, but after that I am stuck. Can someone help me? What am I missing?

You need 2 people or a hireling.

Down by the shrine is a valve in a corner. When you pull it, you get ambushed and the gate closes.

Kill all the mobs the park the hireling next to valve once the gates open again.

Run down the hall and make the hireling pull the valve.

When you head back up the hall away from your hireling theres an alcove with another valve.

This will spawn some enemies, and free your hireling.

Well you need neither a friend or hirleing nor recalling out if your a 6th lvl human with the lesser mark of passage(ddoor) or a ddoorscroll.

    Default stupid design

Considering how many people solo at this level this is a terrible trick to pull. Thank you for at least putting the info out there so I didn't spend any more time on it. I wish I could find the name of the moron so starved for originality they came up with this idea.

When favour grinding, however, you can recall out just as easily.

Its not my favourite design, but its a quick easy quest to solo for your 2nd house P favour benchmark.

    ....

So if one or two quests out of a hundred or so have a mechanism that (originally) made it unsoloable it was because they were starved for originality?

I found it pretty ingenious. Much like real life, there are certain things that you can't do alone, and need a friend to help you with. This is one of them. Nothing wrong with that.
