"I require a reminder as to why raining arcane destruction is not an appropriate response to all of life's indignities" - Vaarsuvius, OoTS #674
I would like to say that as long as she lets folks know up front that she can't hear voice chat, that it would be fine. Most groups it's probably true. There might be a few that insist on voice chat or just use it regardless but I would hope most would use party chat in such a case.
But if you grouped together you could always make sure to re-type the important stuff.

I would say yes based upon the parties willingness to type in game. That said i have played with Deaf players who were good DDO players and it is a challenge. The problem is you have to type everything for them to be informed about whats going on. If you say "ok bob go and kite those mobs" and then dont type it in chat then the deaf person really has no idea whats going on.
Also some women dont like voice chat. They are shy or selfconscious. My wife is like that, she prefers to type. The problem is some people do not always watch typed chat and it takes longer to say "look out there is a minataur (sp?) behind you!!!".

Not at all... I've only spoken a few times in over three years, I have always typed. I have been a guild leader over the same guild for over three years. ... I've led many raids, I am generally respected for my skills and all my characters are capped. Plus people seem to like me and I have fun.

I know my harbor and marketplace pretty good. My Gianthold knowledge is horrible. Necropolis is horrible. Really anything past lvl 10.

2.) "Never wrestle a pig in mud, because you get dirty and the pig enjoys it."
3.) "Never argue with an idiot because people watching cannot tell the difference."

I guess I should post something that is actually on topic.
Either add this to the noob description or give it its own category:
The Dabbler. Never actually accomplishes anything as he is too busy making and remaking characters because he/she cant decide what class to play or they really enjoy sampling all the classes.
That's where I am currently. Just call me NOOB ISLAND MASTER! (or tim)
Free Aranticus!
Well I would say I am a Good Player(pugging) or Teacher(Guild Leader) depending on what mode I was in for the evening. But if we have to stick to the original titles that would slap me into Terran, yes?

Play Smarter, Not Harder! ~ Karranor
Uhoh, I think i'm a noob. My playstyle varies based on my mood and the
type of character I'm playing. Sometimes I want to zerg, sometimes I want to crawl.
Always, I just want to have fun. I only do Pugs and I generally try to tailor my approach
to what the leader wants (or clearly communicate my intent in the lfm if I have the star).
Or perhaps my playstyle is just schizoprenic and I know what it is. Unfortunately, this might
cause problems for others who played with me earlier and now I'm playing a completely different
way. For example, some quests my cleric mostly being a healbot and other quests being a cc/nuker.
I dunno, sometimes I want to have all the aggro on a character and other times I'd prefer to be second in
and allow others to get beat on for a bit. It all depends on the party make-up and damage control.
I guess my playstyle is versatility: whatever I think the party needs is what I try to give.
If that makes me a noob, then so be it! I shall wear the title proudly.
