Default New to the game looking for advice

    Hello all.
I have been playing the game for about a month or so and I am enjoying it. The character I have been focusing on is a Dwarf Celric. My playstyle tends to be quite aggressive yet I enjoy the role of active healer/buffer. Now the question is would you reccomend multiclassing into Paladin, Monk or Fighter?
I typically like to attack with my weapon as I am buffing/healing. The Paladin seems like the obvious choice to me as I can gain martial weapons and additional SP.
I am still trying to figure the game out and am just looking for a little guidance.
Thanks in advance for your responses.

multiclassing without planning it usualy ends up bad.
depending on your stats monk might be useful too for wismod to ac and evasion
think we have to know more about your char first

    What he said.

Don't multiclass for the heck of it. Multiclassing is great, most of my chars are multiclass, but they are planned out with beginning stats that will fit into the overall build. The order the levels are taken in, etc. need to be considered.

If you're new to the game, play your cleric for a while, get 400 pts of favor, open up drow then start looking at some of the build templates folks post on the forums.

Visty is correct, more information on the character -- particularly current, unmodified, stats -- would be useful.

OTOH, there are some obvious things that we can tell you already.

    1. Paladin -- Martial weapons, some AC boost from aura, is CHA based so boost to spell points may be marginal depending on actual CHA stat, does not have the tower shield feat.

    2. Fighter -- Martial weapons, no AC boost, no spell points boost, tower shield feat, additional selected class feat.

    3. Monk -- Some exotic weapons -- none of which are very good, saving throw boost, AC boost if not wearing armor -- may result in lower AC than normal armor and shield, additional selected class feat.

Opinions vary on how much to splash. Natural splash amounts are 2 or 3 for paladin, 1 or 2 for fighter and 2 for monk.

Two or three on paladin depending on if you are trying to get to disease and fear immunities. Two for monk to qualify for evasion. Fighter is least splash intensive because going the second level only gains an additional class feat.
