it's been almost 2 months. they still haven't been fixed even a little bit, or at least not mine.

Meh.
For me, the "new toy shine" of the character signatures wore off shortly after they came out. Yeah, at first I was irritated to be among the many who got shafted by whatever bug currently plagues the feature. But then I took a step back and realized that I don't like the way many of the races look - I don't PvP, so having a public scoreboard for personal chest thumping means nothing to me - and they are annoying at how they load slower than everything else on the page, causing some scrolling issues. I only wanted one because I couldn't have one.

I'm pretty much over em, and I really don't care when/if they fix them anymore.

If the picture on the character sig actually looked like our characters, I'd be more interested.

As it stands, I don't care if it shows race/class/level since the pictures they chose have nothing to do with my characters, take up a whole lot of space and as has been said take forever to load.

Now, being able to use one of our characters' actual appearances for our avatar picture, that would be much cooler. Probably still take too long to load though.

agreed, but for some reason i felt the need to point out publicly the fact that they were supposedly giving us a nice little extra and never bothered to make sure it worked and still haven't after all this time.

They're still broken with no hint as to a fix in sight. Not really sure why they were a good use of Turbine resources, as they're somewhat annoying to look at given they're huge. Personally I'd rather have a new quest than signatures that are pictures.

Though the fact they don't work has been in my sig since it came out, I might replace that with something else that is lingering and more important.

More wasted development on useless features. This one is not even an in-game feature. How about spending a little less time on web signatures and a little more time on new content? Maybe then we would not lose another slice of our player base every time you release a "letdown"; aka. new module.

The pessimist in me wants to point out that these character signatures are essentially just a hit on the DDO DB server by a web server that then matches a stock picture with a bit of added text. Much, much easier to do than write content for a 3D, real-time adventure game with complicated scripting and geometry.

There are hundreds of thousands of full- or part-time web developers out there that are either out of work or eking out a living doing something else. Having one of those do forum-game hybrid projects under the umbrella of customer relations has got to be much cheaper than hiring a real, skilled game developer type to create actual in-game content.

Not that I think anybody got hired to do the character signature thing...I suspect that was someone's lunch-hour side project that got "good enough" to be thrown to the wolves, that is, us.

Mine has disappeared...I edited my signature earlier to add changes to level and guild and now no character picture sigh I give up it was nice while I had it but now just a bit of fluff.
