Default What's the best way to move client to a new machine?

First, can you move the client to a new machine without running the launcher?

I got the Turbine updater installed and turned it off. I then copied my game directory to the new machine, started the launcher and it still wants to re-download the whole game again.

    Any ideas?

Pretty sure you have to install the game.

I posted this in another section but it will still apply.

    easy.

install TDM on second computer. let it install to the point where it wants to start downloading the game. Pause it.

Open install dir c:\prog files\turbine or equiv. there are 3 folders the main install, an interim install and the TDM.

Copy and paste your main install from the first computer to the interim folder on the second computer. restart TDM it will validate/create the files in the main folder and bam your playing. should take about 30mins for it to validate/create files.

It will however at the start of each file say downloading but you will notice that it changes and the rec/send at the bottom changes to 0k indicating that its not downloading. note sent will have a number if you have p2p turned on.

Best way is to uninstall TDM and then just copy the whole DDO folder. You may also want to take the DDO folder in "My Documents" which has your screenshots, game settings, UI skins, and keymap configs.
