Weakening/Enfeebling = Useless?

I just went into Prey on the Hunter to try out my new Weakening/Enfeebling scimitars. I ended up DPSing the giants to death before they ever went incapped, and I was running Combat Expertise instead of Power Attack. This is mind boggling, considering their inflated HP!

Has anyone had any luck with Weakening/Enfeebling weapons? I had hoped that doing Strength damage for auto-crits would be a faster kill than just straight DPS, but this does not seem to be the case. Is there an area in the game where Strength damage weapons are more effective than plain Puncturing rapiers (assuming Mod 9 nerf)?

Anything that casts or shoots projectiles will be a better target, also try:

Beholders
Tharask hounds
Eladrin
Animals

Basically anything with lower STR than other stats (which is anything that doesn't try to bash/cut/impale you).

As far as w/p vs w/e, this is more a trial and error thing because of how HP are loaded up on top of HD.

Tharask hounds more easily vorpaled or dpsed
Eladrin wounding works better than w/e. infact a heavy dps work as well too
Animals more easily dpsed

Well, there's always a better weapon than w/e OR w/p IMO.

It's just a matter of knowing what their weaknesses are

Same reason why Contagion is such a powerful spell.... if you know which to use where
