    You don't need it....

But it's like cutting your damage in half with out it.

    So it's essentially necessary.

Two Weapon Fighting is not required to use handwraps. However, if you want the extra hits granted in the Monk fist fighting chain, you will want Two Weapon Fighting.

Its really a wasted feat and is only necessary to allow for the ITWF and GTWF feats that do grant extra attacks.

This^, in so many words, is how you say time and feedback on Lamannia are wasted.

Actually, TWF enables extra attacks even when you just have the one feat. Without TWF, your handwraps act like a single weapon instead of two.

I was under the impression that the twf feat (not itfw, gtwf) was only used to reduce the to hit Penalty (main hand and off hand penalty)incurred from equiping an off hand weapon, which a monk using kama's or rapiers do not suffer from?

I was also under the impression the the TWF "hooks" were also only gained from the ITWF and GTWF feats (with the assumption of a significant enough BAB to recieve the said attacks).

I know that u will still get an extra hit on ur offhand weapon once u have a BaB of 1, so first swing main hand one attack....second swing off hand two attacks...this happens even if u have no two-weapon fighting feats I'm pretty sure.

I think ITWF and GTWF give u either more hits when u get multiple attacks per swing or grant them later in ur BaB progression.

It's the same as THF, u don't have to have any of the feats, but if u are swinging a great axe u are still going to get glancing blows on the swings they apply on.

That's true for armed TWF. Unarmed TWF is a different beast which acquires additional attack hooks (no change to animation) from all three feats. (All at no penalty to hit or damage).

With Armed TWF you don't have to have any of the feats in order to acquire additional attacks. Simply equipping a second weapon will grant one off hand strike (Think you gain a second one at BaB 15 even if you have no feats). Since it's impossible to equip two handwraps at the same time there's no way to add those offhand strikes unless you're TWF'ing, which is turned on permanently for Unarmed as soon as you acquire TWF'ing.
